A new lease of life

During today's global Wii U Direct, a fantasy of many Zelda fans was revealed to be true, it was confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is being re-produced and released in HD on Wii U. It's targeted to hit the platform this Fall.

As explained by Zelda head man Eiji Aonuma, the decision to re-master the GameCube title was taken due to the impressive results discovered when trying out art-styles and concepts for the new Zelda release, which was confirmed to be in development but a long way off. Due to the wait for the all-new title, it was decided to bring the experience to a wider audience for those that didn't have a GameCube; it'll feature upgraded graphics, improvements and tuning to the gameplay, support for off-TV play on the GamePad and compatibility with Miiverse.
