Nintendo Takes A Bite Out Of Euro Publishing Duties For Castlevania: Mirror Of Fate

In a move which mirrors the agreement between Nintendo and Capcom in Europe, Nintendo and Konami have confirmed that they have entered into a deal which will see the former company handling the European (and Australian) distribution of the gothic 3DS adventure Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. Konami will remain the publisher of the game.
The game launches in Europe on March 8th. The North American release is three days earlier, on the 5th.
Laurent Fischer - Managing Director, Marketing, PR & Distributor Markets at Nintendo of Europe - had this to say about the deal:
There is a rich history of Castlevania games launching on Nintendo consoles dating back to the original Castlevania game which launched on the NES in the 80s. We are really proud to be partnering with Konami once again to bring the latest instalment in the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow franchise to Nintendo 3DS.

Good. I'm sick of us missing out on titles. Then again, all consoles and handhelds should be region free so we do not miss out at all anyways.

Konami have a great history of ignoring Nintendo home consoles since the N64. Anyway I will be getting this unless something goes horribly wrong with the game.

Does that mean we will be able to register the game at nintendo.co.uk for star points, or would that have been an option anyway?!

I'm actually surprised the Nintendo is going to put their name to this! With the content there in they could get some back lash from parents. Is this the new Nintendo?!?!

@luminalace Konami titles on Wii include PES, optimized for Wii, Silent Hill, DDR, the Rebirth series (Castlevania, Contra, Gradius), Power Pro Baseball, Shadow's Tale, Pop 'n Music, Tomena Sanner, Driift Mania and several other titles and series. If they tried to ignore it, they weren't very consistent about it.

I like how the only way Nintendo can get games onto its consoles is if it does the expensive work for the publishers.

I'm surprised by this given that LoS 2 isn't coming to the Wii U.
Hope it's good!
