This Custom Zelda Shield Is Possibly The Best Use of Lego Yet
Posted by Damien McFerran
Block buster
When we were kids, we tried to create all manner of things out of Lego, most of which turned out to be disappointingly dissimilar from the intended design.
That's clearly not something that Reddit user remig ever has to worry about - as this amazing Hylian Shield attests.
Constructed from Lego parts costing around $1500, this amazing piece of work might not withstand a red-hot fireball from Scaldera, but it looks pretty darn cool on your shelf.
It's also incredibly close to the original design seen in the games, which as anyone who has tried to create a masterpiece with plastic blocks will agree is no mean feat.

Wow. The level of detail is incredible. And it cost $1500? Sounds like somebody had to cut the grass for a while.

Now that's how you use Legos! That is some serious dedication to building and the Legend of Zelda. Kudos!

Sweet. Excusing color, are those all official (ie, unaltered) Lego pieces? I love how the shield details are cobbles of gearworks.

@The_Other_M: That sounds like a euphemism...
This is really neat, though. I'm struggling to get a sense of scale, but I'm assuming it's about half a metre tall (from a quick estimate relative to the size of the cogs). If that's the case, very impressive!

Now thats pretty cool. I like how the legos gives it a sort of 8-bit look.
Kudos to the artist for having the patience(and funds) for such a project.

I buy a Hylian Shield because Dodongo's and Fire Keese burn my Wooden Shield, but this looks like it will melt!
