Not quite as big as the real universe

It's common practice for big announcements to be followed up by multiple URL purchases, and Nintendo is making sure that it will have us all covered with information about Wii U's functions and capabilities. Nintendo of America has added five new URLs, which accounts for the major reveals from Sunday's pre-E3 Nintendo Direct broadcast.

The system's promised social interaction is covered by miiverse.com, miiverse.net and the original Japanese name of miiwarawara.com. As for the newly named Wii U controller, Nintendo has picked up wiiugamepad.com and wiiuprocontroller.com. These may be used nearer the time or, potentially, just kept so that cheeky internet entrepreneurs can't buy them and take advantage.

We'd like to think that Nintendo will make use of these URLs to build hype for the console. The looming E3 conference is sure to get the hype machine into gear, of course.
