It's no secret that Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle will eventually be released worldwide. It was a 3DS launch title in Japan, and although we always have to be patient, the puzzle-master with the wonderful hat always makes his way to the West. According to recent reports, that arrival may not be far away.
According to Siliconera, Nintendo has recently filed a trademark for Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask in the U.S., which could be the title for the North American release. This isn't the first time that a trademark has appeared just before E3, with the Professor's last two DS titles appearing in this way just prior to a reveal at the LA extravaganza.
Nintendo Europe previously confirmed Professor Layton for 3DS in 2012. It's possible that the PAL release will have a different title to North America, but at the very least it looks like the waiting may be almost over.

So I guess we will hear about it in E3, considering we heard all the other games at E3. Hopefully we will also see the professor crossing over with Phoenix Wright.
Great caption, Thomas.
That name sounds terrible and is out of form when compared to the other American names for the series. They have all been Professor Layton and the Adjective Noun.
how...hard...Is...It...to...keep...the..same...name...AAARRGGHHHH
I bet Nintendo of Europe will once again over-simplify the already simple title. Probably gonna be something like "Professor Layton and the Magical Mask", or even "Mask of Mysteries.“ Why can't they just keep the sme name?
Oh yeah, I also bet they've removed the 3D in the European version, since releasing an inferior version asap pleases the fans much more than getting the complete game.
This reminds me of a puzzle.
When the hell is Layton Vs Phoenix Wright is going to be released?
Every puzzle has an answer... If you are wondering about PL vs AA, I'd suggest you wait for a TGS announcement. We don't know much about the gameplay aside from the courtroom video given half a year ago.
As for the Mask of Miracles, I'm down for it. More Layton games is always welcome.
I gotta catch up on the Professor Layton games. The farthest I've gotten is the Diabolical Box.
Excellent! It seems the release schedule of one Layton per year will remain intact.
Niiiice.
Surely Miraculous Mask is better? Still haven't got Spectre's Call yet - I refuse to buy the European version!
I like this Layton a year kind of pace. Can't wait to solve this games many puzzles and watch the plot unfold.
@Olaf-symbiote I personally think Professor Layton and Pandora's box, the lost future and Spectre's call sound better than Professor Layton and the diabolical box, unwound future and last spectre.
Oh shoot. I still haven't beat Spectres Flute.
I think at one point Professor Layton snaps and becomes the Riddler.
These games are so awesome and popular that I wonder why they don't try to get them out everywhere as fast as possible! If I were them I would have localization start the second the game was done. Can you imagine how much better the 3DS would have sold if we had a Professor Layton game at launch???.
As long as its eventually released in the us I'm fine.
Does the name matter? Xenoblade would still be as epic of it was called Monado or something else. So stop complaining that were getting a new game soon >:[
With a game every year so far, Professor Layton could turn into Call of Duty.
Inferior title aside, I'm excited and relieved. From my understanding, and please correct me if I'm wrong, this series is way more successful in Japan and (especially) Europe. Unless I'm mistaken, the sales have incrementally decreased in America, which got me worried. I'm happy to hear this news, but now I'm waiting for one particular game's localization to be confirmed. The number one reason I got a 3DS in the first place: Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney.
/races to beat specters flute
Finally! The wait is over. Yesterday on the Hershel Layton Twitter page, I learned that the game would be called Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask in America. Now for a release date.
@tat2 Um, this title does follow that format.
Yeah, I am pretty sure we will see it at E3! I guess it will be released this year!
@BulbasaurusRex And since when has the word "miracle" been an adjective?
