Tail-whipping to 3DS in 2011

Earlier we reported that Shigeru Miyamoto is trying hard to deliver a new Mario this year, but there was some doubt whether the game in question was Super Mario 3DS or not. Now Miyamoto has brushed away the doubt: it is "completely original, and coming this year."

Speaking to Edge, Miyamoto also revealed more details about the game, stating it's a cross between Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 64. The raccoon tail in the game's logo is no coincidence either, as Miyamoto confirmed it's exactly what you think it is:

You probably know what’s going to happen using that character.

Super Mario 3DS will be playable at E3 in June. Our reporter Corbie Dillard will be sending through regular updates from the show floor and we'll be covering all the news live right here at Nintendo Life.
