Takt of Magic on track for a May release

Posted by Stuart Reddick

Nintendo caters to Japanese fans via Takt of Magic.

With Nintendo focusing on their new line of New Play Control titles, many thought that their release schedule for original Wii titles would come to a halt. Though those individuals were correct, that period seems to be over - or at least in Japan. According to the latest Shounen Jump, Takt of Magic, a first-party Wii game, is set to launch on May 21 of this year.

In Takt of Magic, you take control of Orwell and Sharlot, two childhood friends who, for a reason that's currently unknown, face off on the battlefield against monsters and enemy soldiers.

For those thirsting for more info, Shounen Jump promises an in-depth look at the game's new style battle system and "deep story" in their next issue, but this issue provides a couple of hints about the game. For starters, you hold the Wii Remote like a wand and draw out shapes to perform magic. The game also includes over 100 spells in total. In addition to casting magic, you also control a battle party, whom you direct on the battle field from an overhead perspective.

With the game's release date less than two months away, stay tuned to Nintendo Life for more info on this upcoming title.

Looks cool. It has a better chance than most of making it over thanks to it being first-party.

Deep story? Nintendo isnt one fore deep stories (aside from Fire Emblem), but if its half decent I wont mind.

Nintendo rarely makes a poor game (even frickin Bonsai Barber was good), so if this continues the Nintendo 1st party quality greatness, then we may see a new franchise finally.

Alex was right are confirmed? Anyway, humorous little in-jokes aside, there's no word on an English release of this...

This looks awesome. I loved LostMagic on the DS, assuming this is the same series, I can't wait!
