Helix Coming To Europe This Friday

Posted by Corbie Dillard

Ed Roman, CEO of Austin-based game developer Ghostfire Games has just informed us that their WiiWare title Helix is coming to the European WiiWare service this Friday, September 26 for 1000 Wii Points. Now European gamers can enjoy the same unique music/rhythm game that US gamers have been enjoying for the past few weeks.

You can check out our full review of Helix, along with our exclusive interview with Ghostfire Games to get more insight into the game.

Good job to the Europeans! Hope you enjoy! I know I didnt. Why? No points back then and I completely forgot about it. But now seeing this, I am gonna but this on the "Christmas List". But putting that on, means one less gumball!

It's.. well... waggling my arms..

Maybe if I would waggle my arms while laying on the ground in an up and down motion.. or waggling them up and down while holding some weights that are heavier than two controllers =P

Hm, good point. But for 1000, eh. Gonna save that for Tetris Party or Bomberman Blast.

Very good choices =P
I Can't wait for those two games =D
-But.. I guess the same arguement could have gone against me.. you know.. the whole "have fun while getting fit" -wiifit arguement

I kind of regret it.. Yah.. It's kind of fun.. and a lot of my other friends really enjoy it.. like the balance games... But I just don't like whipping it out while people are over.. Multiplayer games are more my style compared to "Watch my friends have fun, and take turns"..

  • the whole "take out my friends with bombs and blocks" is more my types of games =P --

Great, now we're 50% less likely to get Megaman 9.

This
Strongbad Ep. 2 is highly likely.
Megaman 9...?

I can't see NoE giving us three games in one go again.

Hey, we didnt get Bomberman Blast right after you did. You dont get Megaman 9 after we do. You get it when we get Bomberman Blast. KARMA!

But you COULD have potentially gotten it a week later, if we don't get Megaman on Friday then it's a wonderful two week wait minimum. Oh well at least there's Wipeout HD tomorrow and Warioland/DeBlob on Friday :D

Hope you get Bomberman soon.

I do hope you hve to suffer a 2 weeks without Mega Man 9 because, you already have two great games we don't have: Maboshi and Bomberman, not to mention you had the mega mans before us, I want to see how bad karma is to you....You still don't have Gyrostar, Groovin' Blocks, and a couple of other games so you ahve about a 1-10 chances of getting Mega MAn 9 withall the other games that could come out...Also counting a few new games that could come up, who knows...

....Why would you want this? I wouldnt wish any region to be deprived of a game for silly reasons like that.

But we all know that 0.1% usually comes back to bite us in the arse. :P

Hmmm, I wouldn't be surprised if MM9 also came out on Friday, so I kind of fear for Helix. Against such competition, I can't see it doing better than if it were released alongside another game.

This is actually one of the games I've really been waiting for. I only have 1000 points though, and it looks like we are having a massive week this Friday with Strongbad, Mega Man 9 and Helix. Hmmm....believe it or not, I think I'll go for Helix.

Helix, dunno, spent 800 points on Shining Force yesterday and was hooked to my Wii over 5 hrs (whoa!) .The rest of my 1.200 points goes to... Mega Man 9 and Protoman Pack... it better hit the shopping channel this friday, at least Mega Man 9.

For Helix... nah... dunno about those music games, they never attracted me... though I might get it if I can spend my last 200 Wii Points for it, on the other hand this wouldn't be fair to Helix, even if it doesn't appeal to me.

Even it might have been asked a 1.000 times, I am new to this 'download when just added stuff'-mambo-jambo. When will the update hit the shopping channel?

@Herzlos the shopping channel gets updated at midnight every Thursday... usually alternating between wiiware and VC games each week.
The Demos on the Nintendo channel either get updated at the same time or sometimes on a Monday...

hope this answers your question.

I think they wouldnt let Strongbad wait another two weeks as another episode would be turning up then... so I gues it would be helix and Strongbad then.

Sarcasm I hope? lol. I'll send you Bomberman and Maboshi if I could have retail releases (and prices) like you do. But heck, the world isn't fair, just take things as they come. I for once don't care about Helix, Megaman, Strongbad or that NoE is 11 games behind, I just want Frat Party!!!

I really hope Strong Bad Episode 2 doesn't get bumped to next month, because I find it VERY unlikely that Nintendo would release two Strong Bad episodes in the same month. Thus, a whole month would be completely skipped and not corrected for, and it might not be the last time that happens.

Yeah but since the European VC sucks due to all the games being in 50Hz only for some reason it doesn't count. I'm sorry but having Mega Man with fat borders and playing at arround 17% slower (probably including the music) isn't a Mega Man worth caring about. Sadest thing is 75% of the games would run with no glitches if forced into 60Hz and the remaining 25% can either use a workaround like an alternate ROM or were 50Hz optimised in the first palce...

Speaking of Megaman 9, it came out on PSN today. £6.99.

I'll buy it (I played the demo level of concrete man) if NoE are too scared to release the WW version tonight.
