Mario Kart Wii currently sits upon the top spot of the charts in the "All formats, all prices, all singing, all dancing" charts after insanely huge demand following it's release on Friday (of last week).
Not only that but Mario Kart Wii has also become the eighth fastest selling game in UK history. Ever. Of all time.
Mario Kart Wii sold more in it's first week (and this is an interesting statistic) than the combined totals of all the previous 5 Mario games on the Wii (Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers, Mario Party 8 and Super Paper Mario).
That's really, really mental.
It pushes Polyphony's glamourised tech-demo (Gran Turismo 5 Prologue) down to second place with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games still in third.
We expect Wii Fit to take the number 2 spot after it's launch on April 25th. Seriously there's no way it's gonna stand up next to the first week of GTA4. I still personally (and my opinion here does not neccessarily reflect the views of the website) believe that Wii Fit will become the best selling game of the year.

Wii Fit will beat this record and everything else - It's what people bought the Wii for their parents for! That's if Nintendo can put enough on shelves of course..
