Wiiloader

Those of you that graduated to the Wii from the GameCube will probably be aware of Datel’s excellent Freeloader disc, which allows you to play import games on your Cube console. Well, after months of silence the company has now announced that it’s producing a version for the Wii – and amazingly, it will be available next month.

From the horse's mouth:

FreeLoader uses proprietary technology to enable your Wii to play import games from any other region. Using FreeLoader you can now, for example, easily play U.S. games on a European Wii console, or play Japanese games on a U.S. console.

We recommend you always buy a game designed for your own region wherever possible due to language differences and extra features, etc. However there will be occasions when you simply can’t obtain a game, or are not prepared to wait many months for a foreign title to be released in your region. In these cases, FreeLoader is your passport to playing any game, from any country, on any Wii.

If you’re one of the many gamers that bought an imported Wii console and you now want to play games from your own country, then FreeLoader is also ideal for this task. Whichever way you use FreeLoader, no modifications to your console are needed and your console’s warranty is kept intact.

Here’s that all-important feature list:

  • Launch and play imported Wii games from any region
  • No need to modify your console – keeps your warranty intact
  • Add loads of new titles to your Wii collection, including games that may never be released in your region
  • Play US and Japanese games on a PAL Wii
  • Play PAL games on a US or Japanese Wii
  • Fast and easy to use

It’s due for release on the 14th March for the very reasonable £9.99 and can be ordered here.
