The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was announced at E3 this year that it would be released in two formats. A GameCube version and a Wii version. Both versions will launch simultaneously beside the Wii.

Since the announcement there have been many questions as to the features of both versions. The main question been "What controllers will be compatible with each version?"

According to an article at GamersReports someone asked Nintendo’s Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications, George Harrison at Camp Hyrule whether or not the Wii version of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be compatible with the Gamecube controller.

The Gamecube version of Zelda will work with the wii, with gamecube controllers and will not have Wii controller support. However when using the wii version, you're strictly limited to using the wii controller. Using the gamecube controller is not an option.

TSA: Hi. What is up with the release status of Twilight Princess - is it coming out on GCN everywhere, or just here? Also, will we be able to use the GCN controller for the Wii version?”
NOA_GEORGE_HARRISON: Zelda TP will be releasing on both GCN and Wii on the same day as the launch of Wii.
NOA_GEORGE_HARRISON: The GCN controller will be able to play the GCN version on the Wii console, but will not be able to play the Wii version.
