Total game revenue for the month was $684.6 million, software up by 22 percent year over year, and according to Reuters hardware sales increased by 46 percent.

The Nintendo DS is obviously one of the reasons for the increased sales, Nintendos popular handheld console sold a total of 377,000 units in July, while PSP sales overall declined, indicating that the DS is starting to pull away from PSP.
Nintendo is also selling a lot of software for the DS, games like New Super Mario Bros., Brain Age, and Big Brain Academy are doing extremely well.
