My Aquarium 2 (WiiWare)

Game Profile

My Aquarium 2, the sequel to the hit WiiWare title My Aquarium, is here.

This time, the theme is the mysterious deep sea. With a single Wii Remote controller, you can raise fascinating creatures of all shapes and sizes, including deep-sea fish and glowing jellyfish. As with the original My Aquarium, you can customize your aquarium, by choosing which fish to include and where to place various decorations. You can also choose from a variety of colored lights to illuminate your aquarium.

In time, your fish might breed to give you a whole new school. Create your very own aquarium for endless hours of relaxing fun and entertainment. This sequel features a larger selection of fish and objects than the original. You can also link up to the Forecast Channel to have your aquarium's appearance reflect the actual weather, or send your aquariums to registered friends via WiiConnect24. Additional content will be available for purchase at a later date. Dive in and see all the wonderful creatures of the deep blue sea!

When Hudson released the original My Aquarium on WiiWare two years ago, it not only quickly made it to the highest reaches of the WiiWare charts but managed to hang around the top three for well over a year. Now, Hudson is trying to capture lightning in a...

More catching up

There's only one real surprise this week, and it probably won't be a pleasant one for most people, as it comes in the form of a new highest price for a WiiWare game. That particular game's also one of only two truly new titles this week, with every single other one already being released in North America and all but one of those also having reviews already. Expectedly, the Virtual..

If you're a Wii owner looking for a relaxing experience, this week's download is enough to send you into nirvana, with massages and fish-staring ahoy. DSi owners receive some rather more cerebral offerings, with chess, puzzles, music and even a learning game. No Virtual Console title this week, sadly..

Just released in Japan, My Aquarium 2 is due to ride the waves to the Western world within the near future, so it's a good job Hudson has opened the information floodgates by launching the game's website. It had to happen, Yasume. It was surprisingly popular after all. Hudson would have been fools not to have made a sequel. Not that I've brought the first one or plan to buy this one.

Not again, the first one was pointless. Why is it so popular? I hope they don't do a my zoo 2. My zoo was nearly as bad as my aquarium.

I bought the first one for my sister ages ago, can't say I'm looking forward to this. It's alright for a little while but gets boring fast.

NO WAY! This first one was bad; very bad.
I like fish and water theme but this is just bad.
If it had some realism to it at all it would have been OK
Instead the first "My Aquarium" sits on our mem-card and never gets used.
It is one of my top 5 all time worst WiWare titles and the fact Hudson made it was a let down.
I use to be confident in their name.
