Minecraft is a game that needs no introduction; the quirky block building game has been a pop culture sensation for many years now, and has a port available on just about every modern platform one can name. Given the existence of Minecraft: Wii U Edition and the hybrid nature of the Switch, it was only a matter of time before Nintendo’s latest hardware received its own port of the classic. The big question is this: does Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition make the game worth buying again? The answer is a resounding yes - the versatile nature of the Switch makes this an absolute must-buy.
If you’re one of the few who are looking for an explanation of exactly what Minecraft is, check out our review of the Wii U version, as this review will focus on what makes the Switch version stand apart. In a nutshell, Minecraft is a completely open-ended sandbox adventure game that allows you to either build whatever structures and projects you want out of an unlimited number of blocky materials, or to do your best to survive in a world that has a much more restricted amount of materials and rules. Either way you cut it, it can be quite dangerous starting a world in either mode, as it’s quite easy to get sucked into the charms of Minecraft and lose several hours to yet another lengthy session.
Controls exemplify the standard fare for all the console versions by now, and they find intuitive and simple solutions to solve the problem of not having a keyboard and mouse. Inventory screens and menus are simple to navigate, and while you can’t rebind every button to a different action, you’re given several good control alternatives if the default isn’t to your liking. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition doesn’t support single Joy-Con play, so if you want to play with a friend they’ll need a full controller, but this doesn’t take away too much from the fun that can be had in playing with others. Minecraft will always be a game that’s made for the keyboard and mouse, but the controller set-up sufficiently manages to cover all the bases and deliver a satisfying experience.
Of course, Minecraft is a game that’s often best enjoyed with others, and both online and offline multiplayer are supported here, with up to four players allowed locally and eight players online. We didn’t get to test the game with four people, but adding another player locally did nothing to noticeably slow down the experience — docked or undocked — and it seems this holds true even if you add in a couple more players. The reduced real estate of the Switch screen obviously makes local multiplayer less than ideal when on the go, but make no mistake, it is fully functional if you choose to go that route.
Another point worth mentioning is that the online mode does not allow for in-game audio chat as of the time of writing. This is likely due to Nintendo not having its online service fully ready for the Switch yet, but it still is something to consider if you intend to be playing online with some friends. As is currently the case with Switch gaming you'll need to use your phones, tablets or computers - perhaps with one of the various free non-Nintendo apps out there - if you want to chat online while playing.
What’s immediately striking about Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition is the level at which the game performs; it does pretty well as a home console port and absolutely incredibly as a portable version. Extensive play in both docked and undocked mode never once - in our experience - saw the framerate take any noticeable dip below 60fps, and the draw distance seems to be about the same as the Wii U version when docked. When undocked, this is expectedly reduced a bit to compensate for the drop in power, but it never gets to the point that things feel too claustrophobic. It may be that graphically superior versions exist on other platforms, but the Switch performs admirably in both modes and the world sizes of 3072 x 3072 leave you plenty of room for creativity and adventure.
As for replayability, there’s a decent amount to get into here. Survival mode has a whole suite of in-game achievements now, which unlock for completing various tasks such as entering the nether for the first time or building a minecart track of a certain length. This helps to give survival mode a bit more content and structure, as you now have certain goals to work towards. There are also two additional competitive multiplayer modes that flesh out the gameplay even more. Battle sees a set number of players dropped into an arena with limited supplies in a fight to the death, and Tumble is an official version of the fan-game “Spleef”, in which players are dropped into an arena and the goal is to break the blocks beneath your opponents’ feet and drop them into a lava pit. Both modes mix it up enough that they stand as worthy additions to the whole package, and they also allow for local and online multiplayer.
Something that cannot be hammered home enough is how the hybrid nature of the Switch gives this game a whole new draw. Being able to play a full-fledged console Minecraft game is nothing new, but being able to then take that version with you anywhere you go with next to no difference in the game’s quality is a big deal. This is the best portable version of the game available by far in our opinion (unless you care to lug around a laptop), and the ease of use between the docked and undocked versions makes it difficult to go back to other versions of Minecraft, as they feel more restricted in some ways.
Conclusion
All told, this is yet another excellent port of Minecraft, nothing more and nothing less. With that being said, we would strongly recommend that you pick up this version, as the versatile setup of the Switch allows this to be the most easily accessible and playable Minecraft to date. That convenience factor is the only real notable difference, however, so it’s up to you whether that justifies paying for another version of Minecraft. If you want to play the best portable version of the game, however, look no further.

Can't wait to play as Daisy all day in Minecraft after my exams!!!!
The performance in undocked mode and the 6 hour battery life could mean that they have headroom to increase rendering distance.
Can't wait to play as well....me! When I get this eventually.
Who doesn't love the Captain of the Toads?
Been meaning to ask, how up to date is this version compared to PC? I heard that it has this "Combat Update" thing going and I think every version except Nintendo's has a new minigame.
EDIT: Ugh...memoryman is here...
This will be out later in cartridge form, correct?
Cool, this definitely looks to be the version to get!
Props and respect to Mojang Games and Microsoft Studios for porting Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition. Excellent review score!
A game for me, everywhere you are dig, always dig. The truth is under your feets.
I've played the PS4 version hundreds of hours, creating elaborate cities and such. Though, I did start out on the Vita version so I'm looking forward to playing some mobile Minecraft again! The reduction is world size is still a bit annoying but with only 9 maps instead of 25, I may even be able to one day finish a world I've created.
Might even stay up till 2AM to download the game! Hype!
Does it support Pro Controller?
The lack of large multiplayer servers and mods make this version, and all non-PC versions, extremely unattractive for me, the lack of large servers in particular. Those are basically what makes the game fun, and only being able to play basic survival/creative mode and a couple mini games with little groups of friends just doesn't compare when you could potentially be playing things like The Hunger Games and a whole swathe of other mini games and mods and anything else you could imagine with hundreds/thousands of other people. (There are plenty of small community servers out there as well, though)
Portability also isn't much of a draw for me, considering my Switch has never left the house. Gonna have to pass on this one. I'm pretty burnt out on this game anyway, considering I've played it from about 2012-2016.
@KoopaTheGamer Yes, it does.
I'm intrigued. I've never played it before and don't understand the appeal. But I 'm willing to give it a go and get into it. Is it basically like LEGO Worlds, but not LEGO? ha
@Shiryu Yes physical is coming later this summer but at under 800mb it's a paltry memory hog. This is one instance where I will actually go digital for the sheer convenience and the fact that it's such a small game.
The nintendo website says the game will be available today at 6 pm pt
@Equinox I definitely agree. I bought it reluctantly on pc and I was so bored. I think either you have to be the age where Legos are super fun, or you have to be an architectural/archaeological hobbyist...
I'm sadly neither (lol) so this type of game is a drool fest. My nephew, who is 11, LOVES this game and has minecraft posters all over his room. I really did try to get him into Zelda etc but he just wants minecraft. At least I know there are others out there who don't see the appeal.
@Dreamcaster-X Thanks. True but I can't help it, I love cartridges and boxes. I will be patient.
@Equinox @JTSRB Not every game is for everyone and having some creative ambition definitely helps, but for many i think its the effortless online play with friends and the complete maleability of the world that seals the deal. I think most teens and up will initially have more fun in survival mode. An aspect that is lost nowadays is the mystery. Its a little too easy to get all the answers now.
This game need cross buy for dlc content, I'm not buying all the dlc pack again. I don't mind picking up another copy but I'm not buying packs and skins again.
@SwitchVogel
Is it possible to play via local WiFi? For example two players with their own Switch and Minecraft version. Like the Ad hoc mode on PS Vita.
I don't think I'll pay twice for Nintendo's online play later this year just for playing Minecraft with my wife without the use of splitscreen.
Can Minecraft be enjoyed as a 1 player experience? I don't have anyone to play this with, and my internet isn't fast enough for online gaming.
I have never played Minecraft, but I am very curious about it.
@EternalDragonX Agreed. I want to buy the game to take it portably, but I just can't fork over another pack of cash for the DLC I bought on the Wii U version.
It's weird that the Switch seems to be the first console getting physical versions of many long-established games.
Binding of Isaac, I Am Setsuna, and soon Minecraft.
@LinkToTheFuture yes, it can absolutely be played solo. I mostly play solo or with 1 other person.
It's a fun game, deserves the hype. Lots to do, and it's a very deep game with lots of mechanics. It does require some "self-drive"-- there are overall objectives, but they're vague, so you're going to need to set goals for yourself, but if you're into that I think it's a blast. Reminds me of Skyrim or Breath of the Wild, but with weird graphics. But just as much depth, IMO.
Never really understood the "I'm an adult, what's the point of Minecraft?" argument. I'm a grown man, and my favorite series are Dark Souls and Metroid, yet I can totally get down on some Minecraft. It's a fun, well made game.
@FrankJaeger
Cool, thanks for the reply. I will download it and look forward to playing it.
Hmmm, do I buy Minecraft again for the 5th time..... maybe. I do love playing in portable mode and then popping on the tv when I get home. Might be worth it.
Another port. Great! I think I'm going to drop this comment in all Wii U port reviews.
"When it comes to passing final judgement on a re-release like this it's tricky - do we scale back praise because it's content we've mostly seen before, or simply judge a release on its own merits? We've opted for the latter here, and so we have a definitive version of a fantastic Wii U game that adds its own extras to spruce up the experience."
Except it doesn't. And still has the criticisms of the Wii U port. And it gets 1 point more than the Wii U review?
This is the kind of game I could see myself wasting time with on the go, so I'll double-dip.
Why is this not up on my USA eshop yet? Am I the only one who still sees it in the coming soon section?
@SLIGEACH_EIRE But you can say that about any console version of Minecraft! Plus this is less so a port of the Wii U version of minecraft than the switch version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a port of the Wii U copy. People would be largely unhappy if this console did not receive a copy of Minecraft, Its a third party game thats expected on relevant consoles.
@Equinox
46 years old and I love the game. Hundreds of hours of exploring, surviving and building on my PC, PS3 and tablet - and I will do it again on the switch. The game is what you make of it. Some enjoy creative mode and just building huge worlds - some love the fun multiplayer competitive modes, I myself love the survival aspects of it - staying with nothing and trying to survive to build a safe haven to live. I bet if you say down with an open mind and just tried it for a few hours, you might just love it.
Never got into it myself but glad it's a good port, and don't underestimate the significance of this on Switch.
It's minecraft, no more or less
@Equinox
That's how a lot of people feel about Mario, Pokémon etc.
£19.99 (UK/EU) is wrong, it says 30 euro here..
"As is currently the case with Switch gaming you'll need to use your phones, tablets or computers - perhaps with one of the various free non-Nintendo apps out there - if you want to chat online while playing."
I don't care how many times I keep hearing this, it will never cease to completely baffle me. It's just absurdly bassackwards.
@gatorboi352 Nintendo claims it's better so you don't need "big and bulky headsets or microphones." Whatever you say, Reggie...
Nintendo: Two steps forward, one step sideways.
Probably going to get it, but disappointed about the lack of any kind of chat system. It could at least support USB keyboards for text chat...
Until Nintendo launches their smartphone chat system, I guess it'll be Discord for me!
So excited! I've missed this game. Haven't really put a lot of time into it since the 360 version. Me and my Sis made am amazing town together, that was some of the most fun I've ever had with a game. We're gonna try and top it in the Switch version, maybe reuse some of the cooler ideas we had
My son is interested in this game but wants to know if the Nintendo version has command line in it like the PC version does. Anyone know?
I am seriously considering getting a Switch just so I can play this game portably and still have it be a full fledged version of the game! I have never played Minecraft aside from a demo but after watching others play it on YouTube I am eager to give it a try and the local co-op feature of the Switch version makes it the definitive one in my eyes.
@Tisteg80 Yes I think so. It says up to 8 players in local wireless mode.
I have never played Minecraft. If I ever want to know what the fuss is about, this will definitely be the version I get.
I would really like to try this. I'm one of those strange people that have never played Minecraft but it sounds pretty cool, especially as a portable. Pity I can't afford to spend any money on games ATM
@sotoam It does not. No console version of Minecraft has access to the command line. It's a more locked down experience, for better or worse.
@King_Johobo I'm in a somewhat similar boat. I HAVE played Minecraft, on PC and Xbox 360, and like it very much as a survival game. I would very much like to get the Switch version to take advantage of the bigger worlds, Nintendo content and portable nature, but buying the Switch itself + BotW SE kind of drained my responsible fun funds. I'd really like to get MK8 Deluxe, I am Setsuna and Fast RMX as well.
Silver lining is that they're not going anywhere, I suppose.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE What constitutes a good WiiU port for you?
Looks like a very solid version of Minecraft. I have a really cool version of it in VR for my Oculus Rift, but it does unfortunately make me a bit sick if I actually play it in full-on VR mode. Luckily there's an option to play it in more traditional mode on a screen, a virtual screen inside virtual room made from Minecraft pieces.
@Tisteg80 : According to the eShop page, it supports 4 players via local multiplayer, or up to 8 players via local wireless.
Got it on PC, pass.
@SmaMan C A V E S T O R Y
@FrankJaeger Actually Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition do
@SmaMan Minecraft has had othe physical releases
I've already got this for PC and iPad but as the review said I can't play a huge laptop on the go and Minecraft zaps my iPads battery.
It's relatively inexpensive and a small file size but I have avoided playing it too much in the past as it's a major time sink, like WoW.
What to do...
Edit: bought it 😁
@Tisteg80 I've been wondering that too, I'm not really sure! I don't see why not, but I don't know anybody else with a Switch to confirm.
@SANICBOOM644 huh, the more you know. Dunno if those count as 'console editions', but entirely valid all the same. I play Pocket Edition sometimes and I didn't even know that lol. Thanks for letting me know!
Can I play with someone on tv in my living room AND with someone via wifi who's in a different location?
I know both options are available separately... but are they available together?
I'll be buying physical whenever that comes out
Picked this one up an hour ago, enjoying it thus far. That said, infinite worlds can't come soon enough. I don't care how big my save file gets, I have a 200gb Micro Sd card in the mail and Infinite runs on my old 8gb phone perfectly fine.
@Psychoennui If you mean like 2 people playing split screen on your tv and another friend join your world remotely online? Should absolutely be able to do that as both the ps3 and 4 versions do.
I've picked this up...always meant to day 1...but I have a few concerns. Watching a few hour ling plays the past couple of days on YouTube...they were able to see 3 modes (Survival, Creative, and Adventure) when creating new worlds. But on the downloaded release I personally see only Survival and Creative. Another thing I'm not understanding is its not allowing me to set 'keep inventory' to on in Survival. The box is just greyed out and won't let me turn it on. Anyone else seeing these problems?
Oh...and love the Mario themed world...first time playing it...but as much as I live Mario music...why on Gods green earth did they have to choose ONLY the brightest most chipper Mario tunes? I have to turn them down as it seems intrusive when creating a Mario world.
The Switch will be the second portable device on the market with a non-mobile version of Minecraft, after the PS Vita.
For most people, the Switch will be the first relevant portable device on the market with a non-mobile version of Minecraft.
I myself am not too big into Minecraft, but I know a lot of people who are, so it will be interesting to see if the Switch version would appeal to them.
@sillygostly
I know that but with local multiplayer they could mean splitscreen. 2 to 4 player splitscreen is possible with the Switch docked and undocked. So it's no confirmation.
Does anyone know more about that?
And as I read in a forum it seems that locked 60 fps is not true. It has serious framerate drops in the jungle and when it rains, just like the Wii U version. I am very disappointed about that.
I will still buy it though.
Alright, folks, local play and 720p resolution is officially confirmed!
"But of course, being for the versatile Switch, this version lets you play with your friends in all manner of ways: get together online for some eight-player action, eight-player local play (if everyone has a Switch) or squeeze four of you onto a couch to play splitscreen in front of the TV on a lone console. Some other blighted family member hogging the TV? Flip out the Switch’s kickstand and play in tabletop mode! That supports four-player splitscreen, too, with players wielding either Joy-Cons or the Pro Controller.
Then, after you’re done, click the kickstand back in and take your creations with you to play wherever you go. Play on the bus! Play in bed! Play it while backflipping off the head of a Goomba to slide elegantly down the full length of a flag pole! (Not advised.) It’ll run at a smooth 60fps and 720p resolution across all modes and play types, whether you’re playing on your TV or in handheld mode."
https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-launches-nintendo-switch
@Tisteg80 : It supports "local wireless" for up to EIGHT players. You can't have eight players in split screen. "Local multiplayer" refers to how many players are supported locally on a single console (i.e. split screen). "Local wireless" refers to the number of Switch consoles that are supported wirelessly (i.e. everyone has their own display, however, each player will require their own copy of the software).
Im on the fence with this one, but i am glad that its been ported well.
Another big title for the switch is only a good thing.
Just bought this last night. I love that it has the Super Mario content in it, and a world size closer to Xbox One than 360.
All those DLC packs add up though. I bought em just cause I like some variety, but only cause I skipped them on other consoles.
@FrankJaeger "I'm a grown man, and my favorite series are Dark Souls and Metroid"
Really good taste, and considering that your username is "FrankJaeger" I guess that you also like Metal gear and acknowledge the awesomeness of Gray Fox right? I applaud you sir.
I've never gotten further than mining Iron ore, haha.
Definitely going to start playing this!
It's also so handy I can buy stuff from the US shop, as it's a tad cheaper than the EU store
i Am a Huge fan of Minecraft and the fact that it comes with a texture pack AND Skins is amazing. i am so happy it has come to the switch!
I rate it 10/10 cause im ocd and odd numbers
bug me.
@Xn_night - I don't like odd numbers either. I was typing out my reasoning, but seeing it in print made me realize just how insane it is, and I deleted. I'm with you though.
Am I the ONLY person seeing significant slowdown in undocked mode when turning my view near forest/jungle biomes? I'll do a full 360 turn looking over water and I get a fluid 60fps, but as soon as those trees hit my FOV, the framerate drops by half.
@FrankJaeger Damn responsebilities! That's true, they'll be there when we're ready to purchase them yeah I've never played Minecraft but the survival mode sounds great, especially in Co op mode. Just need more mates to get Switches. I've downloaded Fast RMX because I had some eshop funds transferred over from my Wii U and it's pretty great if you ever get a chance to play it.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Are you going to literally troll every single Nintendo Switch article with venom until eternity? Because it is REALLY getting old.
@Cosats yep he is
anyway played the tutorial today & apart from some blocky graphics really enjoyed it
@Shiryu Yes, but it will be the same price and have the inconvenience of needing to plug in a cartridge. The game as previously reported only takes 512MB of storage on the Switch and any saves would be to the Switch itself anyway, so your not really saving any space on your console when you could have another game in the cartridge slot.
@Tisteg80 From another forum I read that the game is locked at 60fps throughout all modes, but in portable mode the game has a lessened draw distance to compensate for the lower processing and power settings. But this same forum suggested the game ran at 1080p in docked mode as well. From my experience it seems to be rendering at something close to if not full 1080p. But the game does look just ever so slightly softer than the PS4 version of the game I also have.
@Xn_night I agree with your high rating of this game. The game performs better than the Wii U version and plays more like other consoles with its autosave function. Plus all of the Mario and other DLC content the Switch offered in one nice small package make this a great bundle and well worth the cost in my opinion. Being able to take a console grade version of Minecraft on the go is amazing, and at least to me much improved over the Android/IOS Minecraft Pocket.
@Nico07 I know, I know... me and my silly old ways.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE From a technical standpoint the game does perform better than the Wii U. It has larger map sizes, an autosave feature that doesn't interrupt gameplay, and a better resolution from the increase in power. Not to mention the fact it can be taken on the road. I know this last one may seem like a copout as it's a system feature and comparing it to the 3DS is like apples to oranges in a way, but it really is a nice feature.
These first five or so months after launch are going to be slow going for new and innovative games, so system selling ports are a good way for Nintendo to make money and those wanting to rebuy (or buy for the first time) have some incentives either way. So naturally if Nintendo decides to re-release Smash Bros Wii U or even Mario Galaxy on the Switch it should also get high praise because the games are great and though seemingly little is done to enhance these games they are still great. It's a tactic taken by Microsoft and Sony this gen, but for those who want to buy or rebuy it's hard to complain much.
Personally I'm looking forward to ARMS, Splatoon2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, not to mention several more indy titles and yes Skyrim (again). It's still pretty hard to believe we've got all of these titles coming this year with possibly other surprises at E3.
got the game looking at the DLC is it worth it well the 5 pack dlc anyway
@Nico07 The things you listed there didn't require any effort. They're by-products of what the Switch allows.
@SANICBOOM644
Cave Story got a physical release as Cave Story 3D on the 3DS.
The Pocket Edition is actually pretty much identical to the PC version now & performs REALLY well depending on your phone... plus has Infinite Worlds, so you're not limited to a finite world.
@Equinox It's the ability to create, experiment & the community. Think of it like Pokémon... if you play it at surface level, the game gets boring REALLY quick. However, if you start looking into the mechanics and join in with other players you'll get a LOT more out of the game.
Been playing it for a long time now & am part of a growing community. might have got bored if it was just me on my own.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE They are not by products. Quit moaning about things that only exist in your imagination.
I might sound totally out of touch but, how exactly does one play Minecraft? It never interested me, as I've always believed it was basically just digital legos. I've had hardcore PC master race friends get sucked into it....I still never got interested, so never poked into it.
This writeup makes it sound like there's more to it than just "build stuff with digital legos", and yet...I'm not seeing in what way. Is there a "game" underneath the building set?
@westman98
Lol, yep can't agree with that comment. The vita version is more than relevant, it's sold 2.3 million so far and still selling. Let's face it some Ninty franchises don't sell that many. Relevant it certainly is. In comparison wii u version sold 1.2 million, that's a huge difference between 2 machines that didn't sell to good commercially
@NintySnesMan
Lmao Vgchartz lolol
Anyone have any good seeds they've tried with this version? I'm looking for a mine, maybe some tall mountains, mesa and or deep ocean for an ocean monument.
I'm stuck trying to make a bloody furnace!
@cfgk24 tutorial was good for basics. But when you go to 2nd tutorial zone its information overload
@westman98
Yep it's a guideline. Mediacreate has it at 1.149 million just in Japan alone and they are well reliable, oh yeah they also have wii u version at not much over 300 thousand, I guess that says it all really. Tbh it's been out on every machine, it won't have same impact like it had years ago, switch version will struggle to reach wii u numbers but if it does good on it. Anyways as you can see with mediacreate numbers, it shows your comment is just dust in the wind, and that it is a relevant version on a handheld, not that any of this matters to me, I can't stand the game
@NintySnesMan
In Japan, we know that Minecraft has sold 1 million copies on the Vita and around 400,000 on the Wii U. The Vita version was released in 2014, while the Wii U version was released in 2016.
Western sales are unknown, and Vgchartz is not a reliable source.
I'm also fairly confident the Switch version of Minecraft will outsell the Wii U and Vita versions in due time, assuming Switch sales don't completely tank like how some people on this site are predicting/hoping for. Minecraft is a game with spectacular legs and appeal.
@SmaMan Possibly but, minecraft has been physical since 360.
More truth telling
https://twitter.com/fourhman/status/863091790378881024
@gatorboi352
Lol. See that a lot around here. Game X will not be on Switch. "We are better off for it, it is horrible." Game Y will be on Switch. "That's so much better than insert blockbluster universally well reviewed game here. Those are all the same and this is new and unique.
They did not improve the selection of music. Serious bummer. Would it have killed them to include more?
@westman98
I am sure it will have legs on switch, I don't think it will catch vita numbers but one thing for sure, the Switch will sell more hardware than Vita and Wii u combined. I don't have a switch and probably won't buy one, atleast for a few years yet, for me it's all about Japanese games and that's why I have a vita. I don't follow brand loyalty, wherever the Japanese games go i go regardless of what machine they are on, in this regard the switch is nowhere near ready for me, it has to get Japan games that are not on or coming to vita
@DragonbornRito I've also noticed that.
@NEStalgia Well, I love Legos, so digital Legos is up my alley. shrug
@sotoa No, unfortunately this version does not actually make available the command line. This is actually my 5 year old decided on the PC version. Have it on the 360 as well, but compared to the PC the features are lackluster. Super fun on any console, but the PC sort of helps promote children tinkering with the PC a little more.
Is it better on Switch than on PS Vita?
@dimi
Don't matter what version you get, if you have a vita then get it on that and same if you have a switch. If you have both machines then you have a choice, but for me personally I would buy the cheaper option, it's often on sale on psn for £6is plus it has lots of dlc very cheap. Switch version has the mario pack. I guess it all depends what you want really, as for me I hate the game, I wouldn't buy either, but that's just me
What! The Switch is a portable? Haha I've used it portable 1 time so far. It's so beautiful on a big screen
@EternalDragonX Same
So, I've been a minecraft fan since 2013, and I'm telling you, I played lots of PE. Countless hours flew by, and now I'm thinking for an upgrade. The best of those hours were playing local with my friends, because i never got to try online.
One question. Can you play online multiplayer?
Has anyone experienced problems with the download content. I bought the cartoon textures, it downloaded but I can't find it in the menu and the trial version is still active. Have emailed nintendo. Still waiting to hear back.
@easygoingthief I've gotten that bug. I just back out and try again and it always works. It's a weird bug, but in no way stops me from using the texture packs. It just delays me a little.
@FTPinkRabbit I can't even see the pack to load it up still not getting anywhere with it.
@easygoingthief You might not have gotten it to download. Go to the eshop, then hit redownloadable software. If it isn't there, launch the game and try to use it. When it gives you the trial pop up hit B, then try again. The most it ever gave me was three times, just a, b, a, b, a, b, a. It's a pain, but hopefully the bug will be fixed soon.
Hi There,
Thanks for the info will try tonight. Nintendo have been in touch and want my account details and switch serial number, not sure why they want the serial number.
@LinktotheFuture It can be enjoyed very deeply and you can sink many hours into it. You could build anything you can imagine in creative or try to slay the ender dragon is survival
@DreamyMario I have played it some, but I haven't been able to get into it.
Well that’s fine, it’s a matter of opinion
@Shiryu No it got delisted and I could never get it
@nintendorulesnotxbox shame... :
Can you transfer mobile files to your Minecraft on the Nintendo switch?
