Whether you recognise this game by its US title (Rambo: First Blood II) or its European title of Secret Command, this Sega Master System classic lives on through Virtual Console!
Play as a lone warrior, armed to the teeth, sent on a top secret commando mission behind enemy lines to liberate your comrades at arms! Battle frenzied attacks from enemy soldiers, rocket troops, tanks and other enemies doing everything they can to stop you from saving the hostages. Use your trusty machine gun and compound bow, equipped with explosive-tipped arrows, to pave the way to victory. Let nothing stand in your path!
To add even more to the fun, you can play with a friend in two-player mode for double the firepower!

To be honest we thought it wasn't gonna be released outside Japan because of the US's Rambo version, I guess Sega proved us wrong

I don't see why Drake what with Secret Commando having nothing to do with Rambo. And I do fully expect this game to be an import release in the U.S.

@ Bass X0: Well, we haven't got Tetris Attack yet, apparently for the same reason...and neither did they grant us the original Panel de Pon as an import release.

Tetris Attack has a different reason for not being released. They gave you Pokemon Puzzle League instead though to make up for not getting it.

Would you care sharing it with me, then?

I would pay import prices for this game if they got the Rambo license and released the US version. It couldn't be that expensive, could it? But an extra hundred points for doing nothing... no thanks. Cmon Sega, get the license! I wanna play some Rambo!

The Tetris Company has made the the Tetris name and concept a license these days. Tetris Attack has absolutely nothing to do with the actual Tetris which is why I suspect we won't see it. They would have to change the name to something else removing all traces of the word 'Tetris'. But yeah, we got Pokemon Puzzle League on the VC.
...which makes Tetris a license just like Rambo. Guess they not completely different. Ehh...

Yeah, in the case of Tetris Attack, they'd have to change the title screen.
Or do what they did: release Pokemon Puzzle League, which allows them to avoid legal issues, do no work, and charge more.

I know.
"Tetris Attack has absolutely nothing to do with the actual Tetris"
Again: I know.
"They would have to change the name to something else removing all traces of the word 'Tetris'."
Just like for Rambo and well, you know...I KNOW. ^^
"...which makes Tetris a license just like Rambo. Guess they not completely different. Ehh.."
Thanks. ^^

Pokemon Puzzle League is a better game than Tetris Attack anyway, so it's not like we got the short end of the stick. If you're going to be childish and refuse to download a game because it says "Pokemon" on the label, no one's going to feel sorry for you.
@JJ: Mercs is the best game of the three you mentioned.

I've played this on my friend's Master System a few times, not a bad game if you have two players. It can be frustrating at times but it's a lot better than some VC games available at the moment.

This was in my top 10 games on any system of all time, very hard, but endless fun (only in 2 player though) makes for much screaming!

Is this the same as Commando on the NES?

Bass_X0 said:
No. Same genre but completely different game. Commando was made by Capcom.
