How about an episodic platformer like Jak & Daxter or Sly Cooper? Any thoughts?

Yeah. I'm sure it will be cool but I'm not the biggest Sonic fan. I figured the SD card option would allow Nintendo to increase the size limit of games. I imagine Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, and even Metroid games would be huge sellers on WiiWare!

I would love a new Sly Cooper or Jak & Daxter game! But I'd, you know, prefer the real thing instead of just some cheap copy.

iirc, in an interview from like last year or something Reggie stated that they want WiiWare to be fresh and interesting, so they were staying away from first-party IPs on the service...?

Let's hope developers keep utilizing the WiiWare service. Expansion packs for first-party IPs on WiiWare would definitely make me dig deep in my wallet.

Or they realize they can put the games out as retail releases and make more money that way?

i do believe you've hit the nail on the head there, the shpydar... of course, Reggie had to be nice about it and play it up like they were making a decision for the fans'/developers' benefit...

Have you even seen the Sonic 4 Forum over at SEGA? Wow...some whined over Sonic's eyes and his 1998 physique....

Humourous to read though.

Anyways, Nyx's Quest is a platformer...that's all I can think of.

Main Final Fantasy & Quest/Shinobi Team fan...but I do like many SEGA games and a few Nintendo games.

I can be cute if I want to be, but I choose not to...as it's not my style.

The games still have to load onto system memory when you play them.

There are tons of great platformers on WiiWare. Lostwinds (x2), Jett Rocket, And Yet It Moves are all great. NyxQuest and Cave Story are anothers that look decent too.

Oh and there's Mega Man 9 & 10 too.
