I wonder if it's going to be a Demo Channel or do you have to download each demo? I would think a Demo Channel easyer. It would be a pain in the neck to have to download each demo to your Wii.

Until the service gets announced for the US, I'll be waiting in the closet with a TV and a Wii.

The only thing that gives pirates a chance against ninjas is the ability to grow awesome beards. Other than that, they're completely outmatched.
Thanks for the awesome avatar, Xkhaoz!

People might be less gun shy of wiiware with this (especially ones afraid to download because they've "burned" by a purchase.
Also a person could have a better idea of what a game is like and not necessarily feel they have to wait for a review to come out.

I think this is the real point here.

Another thing to consider is that, with retail games, players know that if they wind up buying a game they don't like, they can take it back to the store or trade it in for credit or sell it on eBay, but a bad downloadable purchase is going to be on your Wii forever, staring you in the face every time you boot up the console (Dungeon Explorer, sigh...).

Plus, this will make WiiWare a better service to do what it was intended from the start: allow developers to make bizarre, experimental games that use motion control in new, weird ways without having to worry about putting people off.

I KNOW there are a lot of players who would enjoy Gravitronix if they were given a chance to try it out. It's just that the game doesn't communicate well in screens or video so it's hard to justify taking a risk on it.

All we now need is for Nintendo to start sending out weekly Wii messages, advertising the games that are being released that week. So simple, but I think it could be very effective. Blue flashy light ftw!

NLife: Fantasy Football League... Cowlaunch remains at the top, whilst Terranigma posts this weeks high score.

Strange that such a simple, but very good, idea hasn't hit Nintendo yet. Maybe they presume that what they're doing with the shop channel icon on the Wii Menu is working well enough.

that would be very effective i think. (that simple message idea, i mean).

getting more people online would be their ultimate goal, though.

Their first goal is to get people on the internet, now they need to make people aware of games they might enjoy on the WiiWare service. They might consider not spamming everyone`s Wii, but instead just send once a month letter and an initial notice that demos are available.

Hmmm... Many WiiWare games would've greatly benefited from a demo either to show you how poor the game may be, to show that the premise may in fact not interest you or to spark interest in an overlooked gem.

And it would put some preasure on the developers not putting out beta games.

When I think about it... There should be a beta channel for "power users" where they could download beta games and provide the developers with useful feedback. As that would happen :p

I actually made that suggestion to Nintendo personally as I'm a huge fan of betas, either running them or being a part of them.
