Hello, what do you guys think about WiiWare? There were some problems, like the file size limit. I also don't think it could've have stood up to popular downloadable services like Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. What do you guys think?

I never really downloaded too many WiiWare titles.
World of Goo is great though!

Yes, there were some good titles, but they seemed to be overlooked. Multiplatform titles were generally downloaded on other platforms. Also, I think App Store was another problem.

In my opinion, yes. Especially since most of the best games (In My Opinion) on the service were ported to other systems, Steam, or Apple products, and most of the time, were improved.

I don't think DSiWare did too well either, but people may give it another look thanks to eShop.

Yeah, I had very few DSiWare titles on my DSi... But now I have a bunch of them on my 3DS, all pretty impressive.

Let's hope Nintendo can improve it for Wii U. Post your suggestions here.

The 3DS eShop is a step in the right direction.
I might prefer browsing around in that than the Wii Shop Channel.

The amount of Wiiware games I bought that I actually wasn't dissapointed with are very few.
Same goes for Dsiware. Most games just don't feel like a full fledged experience.
More of a morsel compared to the store bought games.
Just proves a download only future will ruin videogames as we know them.

The file size limit is a big thing, as some multiplatform titles couldn't get on the service. Downloadable content is also a big thing, which Nintendo is working on.

@ SuperOtaku
I have most of the Wiiware games you mentioned and they are my favorites.
A large majority of the rest I wish I could give back.

I downloaded Cave Story on my Wii but haven't really had the chance to play it yet.
Kind of wish I didn't bother now with it coming out on the 3DS.

WiiWare was fun for the most part but yeah it was definitely a flop.

This.

If Nintendo had planned/executed this service better, everyone would've have benefited.

Well hopefully they can learn from their mistakes.

WiiWare had its share of good titles; especially from Hudson. I got a total of 4 games from Hudson, and a few from other devs. The WiiWare titles that I enjoyed were: Cue Sports: Pool Revolution, Dart Rage, DRiiFT Mania, Excitebike: World Rally, Frobot, Onslaught, Snowboard Riot, WarioWare: DIY Showcase, and Water Warfare.

Wiiware is a great service with a ton of great games, but Nintendo needs to figure out a way to get people to actually pay attention to the good stuff that gets released instead of automatically assuming every game is trash. Same with DSiWare.
