Topic: The end of WiiWare demos.

Soo.. that was that with WiiWare demos. Today the last WiiWare demo (Bit.Trip Beat) disappeared from the Wii shop channel. CommanderVideo spent a lonesome week by himself in the WiiWare demo genre before leaving it echoing empty. If I remember correctly Bit.Trip Beat also was the first game demoed. Is this the end of the WiiWare demo saga?

I hope not, but I fear the worst. I helped me get some games, but also saved me some money. So a demo is always a good thing.

My guess is they will start up again in a month or two.

There hasn't been a new demo since the 15th of April, so yeah, WW has been in a dead state during this last month.

Probably, yes, since all old demo's are gone. Have all demo's (as far as I know they excist) n my SD card, even the ones from November 2009 It would be pretty unfurtunate if they really stopped with it. :/

We still have demos up in NA, but it is worrisome we've stopped getting them recently.

Can't be everything....

There are still demos in NA that EU has not: lilt line, BIT.TRIP CORE, BIT.TRIP RUNNER.
And demos in EU that NA don't have: HoopWorld: BasketBrawl, ColorZ

Apart from that there are a few games that really should have a demo: Bonsai Barber, LostWinds, Swords & Soldiers.

I know of newer games like Liight where the developers themselves said there would be demos because they submitted them already, so I wouldn't call the service dead just yet.

well, I think this thread can be safely locked now that we know for sure this isn't the case (not yet anyway )

I saw that America gets another Bit. demo, but Europe has zero demo as of last thursday.

Nintendo really didn't support wiiware demo's at all. They tried it, but didn't really take full advantage of it like they could of, and it would have made a difference in wiiware sales if they did. Oh well, hopefully they will see it's greater potential one day and use it like they should of in the first place.

There sure is several more games that´s worthy of a demo. Personally, without checking any "games out now" lists I´d like to see as demos: Plättchen, You me & Cubes, Lostwinds. Yeah, that old Plättchen game

I'm not sure why we never got the HoopWorld demo...

We are talking about PAL here, no demo this week either... 1 month and a half

3 out of the 5 demos left on the American Wii Shop are Bit.Trip demos.

@SKTTR, I don't have those demo's in the Netherlands.

He's talking about the exclusive demos. Colorz and Hoopworld were available a few months back in Europe but NA never got them.

All demos are gone now, yes.

Why the hold up Nintendo? You have no more demos?

We already got the NyxQuest demo some time ago.... or is this demo different from the earlier one?
I'd rather see new demos, instead of seeing them re-releasing older ones.
