I dunno. Maybe some health, and at least the missile launcher. My friend said that there was options for the hard mode, maybe he was misinformed.

Check out my classy comics.

Oh, I read your comment wrong...Well, it's HARD mode and that's what makes it hard. Just play normal >_>

Ok, thanks. So there are no options? Oh well, I'll see how far I can actually make it =D

If this is your first time playing the game Starcross, I forsee many controllers being snapped or chucked in the near future. I'd advise staying away from small children while playing.

Seriously though, the game seems pretty easy at first but the difficulty ramps up to pretty damn tough, and this is with 50 life. I can't even imagine how hard and frustrating it'd be with 3 life.

I agree, if you're not a veteran FORGET hard mode.
In the original, for the best ending it's already an hellish experience (no pun intended).

Just got this game and it's just like the PC version. I don't care for the new sound though. It baffles me why they didn't put in percussion. Not a big deal though. I noticed Balzor doesn't say Huzzah! anymore either.

Jesus is the only way.
It's OK to have an opinion. This ain't the Soviet Union you know.

Classic controller. Switching between weapons with R and L is just the best option. Playing with Wii Remote isn't a bad option either though, but definitely go for classic.

My review^^
98/100. So close...those bastards...
EDIT: The "bastards" I was referring to are the editors at Game Observer who lowered my original perfect score to a 98%, not Nicalis.

they did, but the game glitched and refuses to play certain parts of the audio.

huzzah is pretty fitting for balrog. oh yeaaahhh sounds a little closer to the original japanese word, but maybe with how well huzzah caught on they should have left it. they're actually considering putting it back in. i think kawabunga would work out fine too (when was the last time you heard that?)

So you wrote the review then?
If so, good job. It was a great read. I especially liked the closing paragraph.

Yeah, I'm digging it and feel that I was hasty with my original thoughts on the price (I wasn't evem thinking that I still had enough for Super Castlevania with the points card. I thought for some reason that it was 900 points). The game itself is just awesomeness in easy to digest coated caplets. It's like Mega Man and Metroid rolled into one game with Mario's perfect jumping added to the mix. The music and translation issues people have with it matter exactly 0% when it comes to the fun the game brings to the table and for the most part seem to be part of the unpleasable fanbase that destroys all games eventually (Sonic fans, I'm looking straight at you). Anyway in the RowdyRodimus scoring system (TV title, Tag Team Title, US Title or World Title) this one get's a long reign with the World Title.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

LOL, I like your scoring system, Rowdy. I agree with the long reign with the World Title.

Thank you! (and to the other person who complimented it). It's always nice to hear good feedback, because I'd really like to do this professionally some day (I don't get payed to work for Game Observer, but it is cool because I get to do editorials and things, too. And no real assignments or deadlines. It's more of a "submit something when you have the time" type thing)

@Kid_A Bravo! Great review. I'm not bs'ing you, either. That really was a great read. It was better than 80% of reviews I've read at that one place that get's a lot of hate I'm not going to mention by name. You could feel your love for the game without just writing a fanboy reaction to it and it was informative about what the game is if someone just stumbled across the site and had never heard of it. Again, Great Review!

Nah, I've ran through ti a few times. Just got through Curly mode and am starting Hell. Still have my Life Pot C:

As for hard mode, just got to Balfrog. This should be tricky D=

And @Kid_A, that is an excellent review. But it would have been better if you would have used new screenshots, instead of old PC ones. Oh, and there is no DLC. Otherwise, great review!

I beat the game last night, but I'm going to play through it again and do it a little differently (get pack v2.0).

On a side note, are you guys playing this game using the original graphics/sound or the updated graphics/sound?

@RowdyRodimous and StarCross64
Thank you both for the great feedback! You don't have any idea how much it means. Starcross, as for the screenshots, I totally agree with you. However, I'm not in charge of providing those. When I submit a review, all they get is the actual review and the score breakdowns (graphics, gameplay, etc) that you see on the righthand side of the screen. It's the editor's job to format the page and provide screenshots. I'm one of the few Nintendo guys around there so chances are they just didn't know a whole lot about the game.
