I'm on my netbook and it's easy to use the keyboard for SMB. I just got Runman too

Check out my classy comics.

They had Nintendo as a Publisher for Super Meat Boy on WiiWare.
Team Meat must have done some horrible mistakes to lose em (like not being capable to get some old flash game right on Wii).

No.
Super Meat Boy is much bigger than 40 MB, which is the size limit for WiiWare games. That's all.

Taken from Team Meat's Facebook: "Attention internets: the Editor and Portal should be out in the next 2 weeks. tommy got the server setup, backend is almost done.. soonish. we got pushed a bit back due to a resubmission of the xbla update and 2 other big secret updates we hope to announce by GDC! The news we hope to have by GDC effects the wii version and pc version of the game"

There's more than hope, that pretty much confirms a Wii version of some sort. I'm thinking either Nintendo stepped up to publish a retail version themselves (that would be soooo amazing) or lifted the WiiWare size limit.

Unless they mean the never-to-be-released Wii version. Remember they were looking for a publisher, which probably means the retail code is complete to some degree. If they haven't gotten a publisher then it makes no difference whether the code is ready.

I'm guessing if it has a level editor it would be the full disc version because there's no way they could fit a level editor in for the WiiWare version.

@HolyMackeral So, they tell us there will be an announcement regarding the Wii version of the game, so they can tell us there won't be one? They way they said that it sounds to me like there will be a Wii version in SOME form.

@SuperMarioFan96 Where did they say there will be an announcement regarding the Wii version of the game? All they said was that there were 2 secret updates which they will announce by GDC, which don't necessarily have to do with the Wii version. (Although they hopefully will.) I don't follow them on Twitter and I already own the game so I'm not keeping up to speed on these things.

@HolyMackerel
If it's an announcement about cancelling the Wii version, it would not make sense to wait until GDC to announce this. Just do it now! Spare the time and the hope. BTW, it's on facebook . It's not on Twitter.

I have a feeling it will be a retail version with all the features from the XBLA and PC versions and I would not be surprised it's Nintendo the publisher. They want to release the game on retail as well for the PC. http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2010/12/awesome_cover_for_super_m...

Oh, I see. I misread the quote! Yes, it can only be good news if they're keeping it until GDC.

Right now I doubt if SMB will ever come out on the Wii.

So many good games, so little money to spend.

SMB for Wii is officially dead.

"We really tried hard to make this happen but not one publisher we talked to thought a retail budget title for the Wii would be profitable at this point in the Wiis life cycle, and we totally understand that."

wow so most publishers think a system thats 4 years old is to old to release games for yet some of the publishers in question are likely the same publishers that refused to abandon the 9+ year old ps2 to make quality ps3 games until the last year & half 0_0
that makes no sense at all the wii has a bigger fanbase now then it's ever had & is still growing even ninty refuses to even think of the next gen until the wii passes its peak so why the heck are publishers basicly abandoning a cash cow like the wii 0_0

Well, uh, I guess I was right. O_o

Many publishers have had a negative view of the Wii for a while now anyway. Though third-party games not selling on the Wii is kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy in many cases.

WiiWareWave

Yeah.......
but if third party publishers/developers want thier games to sell better stop making almost nothing but shovelware
problem fixed :/

& no I'm not a 360 or sony fanboy......I just love good games & the wii has a bunch......but it's so hard to find all the good stuff in the shovelware ocean.......
