So according to Interplay, their next Wiiware game Stonekeep will be coming out next Thursday (It was supposed to come out over a year ago). Is anyone interested in this? From what I hear, it is not a port of the 1995 PC game but a whole new game. The graphics look pretty dated from the screenshots here at NL, but it will only be 500 points, so I may pick it up anyway. I was kinda hoping they would put Descent up first though
Oh good, now they can devote more resources to Descent (which they say is still in development accoring to their response to the e-mail I recently sent them).
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

+1 for European release for these. Seems interesting, especially if Stonekeep is a completely new title. Retro graphics is no problem if the rest is good.
Looks like a re-imagination / sequel-of-sorts to me. Could be wrong though, there isn't exactly much info around on the net, despite this being released in NA today.
A friend of mine surprised me with this game. Who else is playing it? It was hard at first, but now I am getting a firm grasp on everything. If anyone needs help getting their feet on the ground I might be able to help.

I just downloaded it. So far it seems like it could be a decent game if I can get the controls down. Games like this I wish they would give you the option to use the classic controller, but I'm gonna put some more time into this game.
I know what you mean. The controls feel almost broken at first, but you start to understand what the game wants you to do after a while. Basically, you have to hold the button down, swing the remote in the designated way, and then release the button. It starts getting crazy when you learn a bunch of spells, each with a new control input.

To anyone interested, I put up a gameplay video of this game on Youtube. The video is poor quality shot on an iphone, but since there are no other gameplay videos of it, hopefully you get an idea of how the game is.
@SKTTR: Hi I got this too. You dont level up yourself. There are "meters" on the magic book pages. I think some of them might fill up the more you use them (dont quote me though). I'll have to look next time. Basically you just find your spells laying around or after you've killed an enemy, I think.
On respawning: There are not infinate responds, though occasionally theres so many that it seems it might. You hear a faint sound when they spawn too, which is good to listen for, as sometimes they will spawn right when you think you've killed em all. Either that, or one or so pop in when your already battling something.
Map works by pressing A and B together. You can tell where save points, doors, and where you've been (though on the 2nd level, when I noticed this, I could barely tell. Some are easier though.
I like the music well enough. I'd have to listen again if I wanted to say more on that.
The graphics look nice to me. I dont see any clipping. Spells can be fun to use. There are alot of differant spells (some are just different elemental versions of others) and lots of weapons (or things to use as weapons).
edit: in your "book" all your spells are accessable at any time so you can keep track of what they do and how to use them. If you press the A button, while you're viewing one, you'll be able to practice it over again, if your having trouble (even in the middle of a battle).
I'm in the fifth dungeon now. I think the game continues to get better, though it is very repetitive. The music is actually quite good. The graphics are decent and the framerate drops often, sometimes when there aren't even any enemies on the screen. The spells are fun but good luck remembering them and getting them to work right. Way too many clockwise and counter-clockwise movements. You get new weapons but they only seem to be a cosmetic difference as they all take the same amount of hits to kill things. The boomerang is awesome though. It can kill many enemies with just one hit.
I picked the green guy as an ally by accidentally walking through his door, but he seems cool enough. Who did everyone else pick? Not that it really matters, seeing as the allies are dumber than a box of rocks. Don't get the wrong impression though. As long as you're not expecting too much, this game is enjoyable.

Actually I opened that door too. So I got the green guy. I haven't continued with 5 yet. Might end up doing that around sunday night or monday. About the boomarang.. I don't think I've thrown it yet, tho I do have it. I'll have to try to do it sometime.
I'm still on the third dungeon since I made the mistake of starting up Majora's Mask at the same time, so that is taking up most of my gaming time (which isn't much these days). Considering Stonekeep is about the same price as a combo meal at McDonald's, I feel it's well worth the money. The game is far from perfect, but it's not shovelware. I feel the developers really tried to make a fun game, and they succeeded for the most part. I hope this game sells enough to where the developers actually get paid for their efforts, as it would be a shame if they didn't.
I beat Stonekeep. I ended up liking it quite a bit. In the first 30 minutes you'll probably regret downloading it but if you stick with it it really grows on you.
