It looks very good. Is it in retail? it isn´t from wiiware, or maybe japanese wiiware.

I have it on my Japanese Wii and I even wrote some impressions for Nintendo Life (though I apparently forgot to review it on my own blog!): https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2009/12/first_impressions_ph...

It's basically like a self-contained VC game because it was on the Sharp X68000 which wasn't on Wii, so the devs packed the game with an emulator and sold it on WiiWare, including an enhanced version to make that possible.

Apparently an SNES port is available - maybe that's what you're referring to? Anyway it's a great shooter so whether you can import the Japanese WiiWare release or get the SNES VC port you probably should get it.

I don't want the SNES version.

It is getting closer and closer for it to be worth my while getting an NTSC-J Wii. I would possibly even go for an NTSC-J Wii U if they added X68000. (Strange X68000 uses a 56hz monitor though - Don't know how that would work).

If you're into Virtual Console stuff a Japanese Wii is totally worth it just for the arcade games and PC Engine exclusives alone, not to mention MSX and the cheaper price for Sega Megadrive titles. it also gives you access to Japanese exclusive Gamecube games like Mr Driller Dill Land and Kururin.

I have it on the GBA. From what I recall it's a decent shmup, but I thought it was a little bland. I should really replay it.

Thanks, I will read it.

If this game is Phalanx it needs the oldman playing banjo or it fails, hehe.

Man, this game looks retro and great. Playing this will leave a smile on your face.

Ogreatgames.com is a great place to go for video games and much more!

How many points is the WiiWare version of Phalanx to download? I wasn't aware there was one.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

@Bass_X0
As mentioned, it was only released on Japanese WiiWare. So you'd need a Japanese Wii. I doubt you can still buy Wii Points cards. Hope they'd still take international Visa/MasterCards because otherwise I don't see an option to buy Points.
For some reason, I want to say I remember it being in the 800 points area.

@KingMike don't know if it's the same with Wii since I haven't purchased anything, but visa/MasterCard works with the Japanese shop on my Wii U/3DS. Also the game is 500 wii points.
