Topic: Petition to get PopCap to develop for WiiWare

Just kidding, petitions never work.

Sure would be a great fit, though, wouldn't it? Someone already mentioned Peggle, and I just started playing Plants vs. Zombies as well. Both of which would be awesome fits for Wiiware.

Also, Wiiware is already selling at PopCap's typical price range (on Steam at least), and the mouse functionality would be just as good with the Wiimote...

Ah well. A boy can dream.

This is a great developer that SHOULD release stuff onto Wiiware. Wonder how we can make it happen...

Et Tu Brutus?

Oh, good you were joking. Online petitions are a good way for people to make an ass out themselves...

Hardcore, casual = marketing. The real divide is between arcade and narrative games.

I heard that.
Did somebody say the words online petition[just kidding]? The sad thing is even if video game companies hear the petition, they won't listen. All they care about is sales numbers. The only video game company I heard of that listens to the demands of gamers is Capcom.

I don't think they should listen - if they are that freaking lost, they probably would not be in business. And a 1000 signatures from a 1000 fanboys aint worth nothing.....

And no it is not 'only' about sales, quality and creativity play a part as well - IF you buy the right games...........

Yeah, a petition would be totally worthless, but it's hard to play some of PopCap's better stuff without:

1) Thinking about how good it would be on WiiWare
2) Thinking about how much BETTER it would be than a lot of other WiiWare

Honestly, PopCap rakes it in hand over fist in the portable market, on phones and similar devices...I'd be truly shocked if nobody in the company was looking at WiiWare or DSiWare as a possibility.

Come on, PopCap! We have money we'd like to give you!

I'm beginning to think PopCap hates the Wii..

They've put games on XBLA, I can't imagine them doing so much better than WiiWare would.

PvZ is 25MB or so, that would definitely fit on WiiWare.

Hahahahaha! What the christ are you talking about?! Capcom is just as much as business as anyone else, why do you think they're so happy to keep making sequels as long as a game sells, even if bitter internet dwellers whine about how bad that is? Hint: Not many people were honestly asking for an NES style Megaman 9. It was only after that was announced that those of us who have been gaming for a long time fell in love with the idea.

Man I still can't believe there are people who cry about companies not being retarded mouth breathers that mindlessly bend to the will of gamers. That would KILL any company. We're gamers, just because we play games doesn't make us knowledgeable about the industry, it's safe to say 90% of us don't have the vaguest inkling of business sense.

Any developer who listens to us deserves the inevitably quick end they have coming.

It really wasn't half that funny, if funny at all. You should work on your sense of humor. Maybe practice with some classics, like knock knock jokes or why did the Chicken Brutus cross the road?

I really don't know what you mean man, those kinds of delusions and history re-writing are comedy gold.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

All they need to do is port the games - that can't be so hard, can it?! COME ON, POPCAP!!!!

It'd be great if even more people could play Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies. But then again, any PC these days can run those games.

That's very true, but I'm sure a lot of people would re-buy Peggle for WiiWare, especially if PopCap threw in some kind of "family mode" that allowed 4 players or teams or something. Not to mention all those moms and dads and grandmas who love the Wii but probably don't get up to much PC gaming. They don't even know Peggle exists.

So you definitely have a point; there's probably nobody on this forum who can't play Peggle already. And yet I still believe it could be popular, and a big seller. (Probably even Big 5 popular.)

Good point about the family mode. I think the XBLA version already has something of the sort? I'd definitely buy it again on WiiWare if I could play it with my family.

Whilst I'm not convinced about the usefulness of online petitions (outside maybe of the ones the UK gov't invites you to submit to the gov.uk website), I do see value in contacting developers and publishers directly if they have active websites with contact information.

They listen to what kind of games people want or certain characters being in a Street Fighter game, and they listen on both occasions.
There are a few examples, but I'll just list one.
1.Tatasunko VS Capcom coming to the West! We wanted it,we got it! Need I say more?
