From my understanding we do have a say, but then once that pricing is set it's fixed!

Copter Crisis ya say?

THanks for the comments guys, each and every one of them is greatly appreciated! Keep 'em coming.

@Vendetta: Not a problem, pal. :) I guess it's good in some respects since it prevents developers from pricing their games improperly but at the same time, Nintendo can screw over a developer by having the final say. For example, Mart Racer would've worked better as a 500-point title.

You can youtube the PC version of the game guys, if you just want a concept of what it'll play like, obviously it won't be as graphically impressive...To my knowledge.

As for the price. I've stated this on the fan page, that 800 would be good, but 700 would get more attention.
People are cheap, and you don't have the hype around it as say the Monkey Island series. So if you could set it at 700-800, it would probably net more sales and would make up for less sales but a higher price. It would probably even out.

Though you do have a recognizable historic name in the title, that might get some attention that would otherwise go unnoticed.

If it's an epic campaign I think you can command 1000; otherwise 800 seems fair. There's not a lot of games at 700, so that might be an interesting price point -- could it tip you into the "instant purchase" territory?

Agreed.

Hardy, as I said before if you look on YT there is footage that was taken from one of our servers of the game in action on Wii. I did ask the chap to remove it and went through the usual rigmarol but it all fell on deaf ears. Still, it's almost flattering that someone would want to take a look of the game in action before we officially unveil it:)

I would try to avoid a Jan-Feb release as you'll be going up against Sky Crawlers in NA/EU -- on the other hand you'll be a lot cheaper, so that might work in your favour!

Yeah, eripmav, you may want to bring up what Sean is talking about. I'd not heard of Sky Crawlers (and i've told you before you've got my money regardless, out of respect if nothing else), but i just looked it up and that game is looking good. very impressive, graphically speaking. so, i don't know what your budget allows for, but i do recommend maybe taking your time a little more and doing some real polishing just to make sure your game can stand equal to the other... and then do something to make it stand out. but i've got faith in you. just keep up the good (hard) work!

Good pep, Bro. But remember that Sky Crawlers is an full-on retail release. WiiWare can't compete with that in the full triad of visuals, content, and depth of content.

I'm still looking forward to the PH titles, though. Kick it, Eripmav.

Oh, and remember... sisirC retpoC.

oh. actually, i did not catch that. i guess i just assumed Sean was talking oranges and oranges (never did like apples much) when he brought it up. in that case, no worries! still though, i stand by my taking your time comment. i've also been really impressed with ghostfire games for doing just that... and Rage of the Gladiator is looking to be a BLAST! so i always say to take as much polishing time as you absolutely can, cause it goes a long way.

I just saw it too. I'm actually quite impressed! lol The fog distance is a lot farther than I thought it would be.
Can I link the video? :P

Just saw the leaked footage. It's definitely raised my interest in the game. The camera is beautifully smooth. Can't wait to see some combat. :3

Feel free to link the leaked footage, I've given up on chasing up after it.

Sean thank you for pointing out the Namco game, I'd never heard of it! I've fired a Youtube vid over the the boss to see what the rivals are up to:)

Thanks for the comments guys, I know for sure that the game's looking miles better than the leaked vid. I actually know now pretty much what's going into the Q1 release and I'm very excited that you lot will love what we have to say. We're no strangers to arcade flight sim shooter style (phew) games, having worked on a couple for the PC, so it'll be interesting to see how it's accepted (or indeed not) on the WiiWare side of the market:)

I've had some moans about the fogging etc again on other forums but again, I'd like to reassure people that the draw distance, framerate etc is really pushing the Wii's hardware as much as we can whilst still maintaining the smooth action of the game! 60FP/s and chock full of graphical eyecandy and beautiful score (I've heard what we're going to be using for the theme, it's very fitting) all in a tiny 40MB package:)

Draw distance looks fine to me; and anyone who's going to make that a serious consideration when buying a Wiiware game can suck an egg.

I think the only real dealbreaker left to be established is the nature of the control. It looks great, and as long as it handles responsively, I can see this taking off (pun...) very successfully. My feathers are crossed on this one.
