I'm aware of that, but it shouldn't be any more difficult or take any longer than what you did to include Classic controller support.. GC controller support should still be automatically linked to Classic controller support in the developers' minds. Please correct this oversight in the other two games. It could be different in this game, but my experiences with Sonic and the Secret Rings, Mario Kart Wii, and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing have shown me that tilt steering doesn't work well without MotionPlus, and I'm not going to spend $20 just to improve the controls for this trilogy and Eduardo the Samurai Toaster.

It isn't as simple as plugging in a GC controller and mapping buttons to the game. They have to add code for it, add numerous tests and they also have a size limit. You can compare a downloadable game to a retail game easily, and point out the flaws and how a single controller support made this game so much better, or you could thank Legendo for the hard work they have done, and maybe not buy the game?

I rather they spend their money to focus on the main game. There's a big chance that maybe after a week people will stop playing online.

Not if they do it right. Water Warfare's online is still strong, though I personally don't go on anymore since it's very unbalanced. For me at least, online MP is a huge selling point. I'll definitely buy the first ep, but there better be something new and awesome to entice me to buy the next two. :3

Also, fun fact: The original PC version of Pearl Harbor Trilogy [Attack on Pearl Harbor by Legendo] had online multiplayer.

I made Kid Tripp! PocketGamer gave it a 9 out of 10! You should totally buy it now!

Speaking of which, has anyone here played the original PC version? I wonder how similar the Wiiware version is.

I'm downloading the PC demo right now

Why, as a matter of fact, CB, I've played the PC version. Very recently, in fact.

Another fun fact, the PC version had a casual skill mode available. Which reminds me...

Hey eripmav, am I just blind or has the choice of skill levels been removed from the Wii version?

The PC version demo doesn't run on my PC Oh well

And I'd too, love to have some difficulty options! Easy mode please! xD

Yes, I do have to admit, this game is very tough. I think they just went for historical accuracy, actually. Surviving this game is only slightly less difficult than surviving the actual attack on Pearl Harbor.

I found the first 4 or 5 chapters quite easy. The Battle of Midway is bordering on impossible for me right now. When flying the mission with the fighter plane, I am basically left alone to take out the landing craft while being chased down my a dozen japanese planes! I just can't get past this stage and it's killing me!

Hints?

BTW, the Battle of Midway offers 3 different versions of that chapter and it depends on what plane you choose. Very cool! 3 chapters for the price of 1

As for online play, I think most people who would connect to the Wii Shop Channel to buy this game in the first place also play games online.

Err, are you a game dev? If you aren't, how do you know what is easy to put in or not? Just get a CC Pro, dude.

Anyway, the game sounds great, and I will be getting some time this summer. You guys should do local MP in one Ep, and online in another, if space becomes a problem.

If you beat it with a different plane, you can still advance, so try picking a different plane (which, as you mentioned, brings with it a different objective, which may be easier for you!)

I beat it with two planes, one of which being the mission you're having trouble with. All I ended up doing was spending my time evading my pursuers, turning around and flying erratically toward the ground target, spamming the bombs, then pulling up and doing it all over again. Don't bother dogfighting if you can avoid it, and keep twisting/turning/climbing/diving to avoid getting stuck in a steady stream of enemy fire. Have fun!

mmm. and that is one steady stream of fire, lol! thanks for the tips

Back!

We felt that the difficulty was pretty much on par with the average WiiWare gamer's skill level in truth. It's like CB pointed out, a bit of experimentation with planes will help immensely.

I know i've said it over and over, but I truly appreciate the lovely comments you guys are giving. It spurs me onwards in this hellishly busy time!

When will the review be up?

How many levels are in each campain? Is there anything else to do after that?

Retro Studios, go reboot Star Fox. The franchise needs it.

I love plane games.

Everything from Wings of Prey to Ace Combat to even Altitude.

So this is the most excited I've ever been over a WiiWare game. Thank you Legendo!
