I was a hesitant buyer, but when i found out the review wasn't going to be here for a while, I took the leap of faith. After 2 hours I can say it is AWESOME the controls are hard to get used to, but once you get into it, it isn't too hard. The single-player is a bit monotonous, but the local multi-player is fun, and well balanced. I have yet to try wi-fi, so I can't speak of laggers, or other matters. The weapon selection is not enormous, but it is a decent size at the start, I am not sure if you unlock things for multiplayer as you progress in the campaign. There are about 6 maps, all of decent size and cover, they are mostly similar, but with different perks. It is a GREAT buy if you have some extra points

This is an excellent game for 800 points! The controls are simple enough but be sure to test out each mech before you stick with one (the customization is a blast too!) I tried the wifi but no one appeared, so I'll try again later. I also tried balance board mode but I tend to have bad balance I'm sure people with good balance will enjoy this mode. I'll post my wifi FC in my signature after posting this message.
heres my thoughts from playing single player a little over an hourthe game is very fun and it fills a missing gap in wii games, but i have a few issues with it, the game is fast pased game theres no real auto lock on at times aiming at a mech thats moving around is hard, then some of the weapons can't seem to hit a mech thats moving around, then theres bp is a pain that goes down with jump, or face an enemy, or getting hit if it goes to 0 then it does a matching mini game that gives you 10 seconds to put the right pieces in the holes to regain bp if you fail then you have 0 bp and it slowly regain
Yes, it is. It's like Snowboard Riot in the sense that the main reason to get this should be for it's online play as it's really enjoyable. It's great for only 800 Points.
I've gotten the hang of things and now I've gotten so used to the controls that it feels right. I'd say I got used to the controls after maybe a half-hour/15 minutes of playtime in the arenas.
I love the amount of customization, the replay value and the overall challenge factor. Developing tactics during play is great also. I'm currently #1 in the World online but at the moment, not too many have the game so I imagine there will be more opponents in the coming days ahead just like with any other game. This is now my 8th online WiiWare game and I love it. Online works very well here and the whole system is rather well done! The ability to jump in and join your Friends who are looking for a match is great especially when they may be having trouble finding an opponent.
i agree with knucklesonic said this game is worth 8$ and the online is lag free from my experience for a mech combat game this is one of the best i played in years
Hmmm, I suspect the leaderboards are separate. My FC is in my signature. I'd appreciate it if someone could test adding me to see if NA - JPN matches are even possible.
irken004 I'll try adding you tonight to see if that works. How does the lobby work in NA? In Japan there's no clue that you're waiting for people to connect or anything. It just sits there with your OTM in one picture and you can call up a menu of canned greetings and that's it.
from my little experience with online matchs there isn't a lobby just boxs for a player that is looking for a match. i'll quickly add you to see if it will let me, i'll also get my code
