I've always hated modern FPSs because they were overly complex and annoying online, but Onslaught did everything right that it could with size limitations, IMHO. I don't really understand why some people hate this game (cough Wiiviewer* cough*).

Posted: Sun 5th Apr 2009 09:02 BST I guess people are split into two camps, one wants more sophistication and story and all that to make it feel like a Hollywood movie, the other feels that stuff just gets in the way and wants to blow stuff up ASAP. Someone from the movie camp wouldn't like Onslaught since its story barely goes past Quake. The other camp can end up liking it more than the big name FPSes since there's no time wasted on epic cutscenes and stuff, just enemies, guns and dakka. Not sure where The Conduit will end up but it sounds like it's somewhat in the middle with a lean towards mindless action, might end up pulling its ratings down with core gamers demanding a better story and arcade gamers possibly feeling that the game wastes too much time on story (not sure it'll actually do though). The Wii is more arcadey in general than the other platforms so the arcadiness may help but I think The Conduit is a hope game especially for the core gamers.

If they were to make a sequel to onslaught either on wiiware - if nintendo increased the filesize limitation - or as a retail release that included more multiplayer game modes (deathmatch, capture the flag, reign capture etc.) and more single player campaigns/levels I would buy it in the blink of an eye.

I know I'm a kid.) -Ridiculously repetitive gameplay -No online Death match (The only thing that was fun in Halo) -Very little Replay I'm sorry Onslaught fans, but I like my shooters to be fun.
