What kind of ad was JV Games Thinking??? Is it some kind of person without clothes??? I don't really know??? This should be taken off or better yet, FLAG JV Games for this disturbing ad.
I don't think it qualifies as "prudish" to consider a person not wearing clothes to be nude. So there's no nipple. Doesn't change the fact that it is a naked person whose sole purpose in the image is to arouse, and that is inappropriate nudity for a family site.
There are times and places where it is inappropriate and/or embarrassing to have a naked person on your computer screen, believe it or not. If I want to see naked people, I have enough other sites favorited already for that purpose. I'd like to be able to view Nintendo Life from work when I'm on break without having to look over my shoulder.
Ditto on the work-safe bit from Adam, although fortunately any visitors to my office would have to walk around the back of my desk in order to see my screen, which would be rude.
Also, it just makes me thirsty, like those pictures of a soda can bedecked with tiny droplets.
Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense. Wii FC: 8378 9716 1696 8633 || "How can mushrooms give you extra life? Get the green ones." -
This thread is funny for me. I don't see anything "offensive" or "inappropriate" with that ad. But then again it's a cultural thing, when North Americans see a little skin they get the "no" feeling and think that it's inappropriate. I see more skin on kids TV shows or even on the street here in Brazil. And how do you know she's 100% nude? She could be wearing really low cut jeans and a small tube top.
Plus, I agree with The Fox.

I personally don't find it offensive, but it's sort of obnoxious and in poor taste. I would be embarrassed if someone walked by and saw me looking at the front page today.
I guess most people here have never been to a beach or public pool where that image, believe it or not, is a common sight... but live! And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think beaches or public pools have a 13+ rating.
Braz, for whatever reason, some Americans don't value objectifying women. It's weird, I know. It's not just the fact that skin is shown, but the way it's shown and the purpose it is put to. "Look at this faceless body and want it," as if this should affect wanting the game. Kind of sleazy, but not really my problem with it. For me it is less a matter of offensive and more a matter of not wanting to be fired if seen looking at this site on break.
Like I said earlier, my opinion and everyone elses is based on culture I guess. I grew up with this kind of stuff, so I don't think I'll ever see what the big deal is... whtev's. @Adam What's weird is how Americans are, as The Fox put it, prudish towards something like this. And Americans do value objectifying women I mean look at America's Next Top Model, Cosmo, and most other ads or forms of media. "Sex sells" (not in this case though LOL) is probably the oldest marketing gimmick in the world. Also, I've seen worse on people's computer at work... much worse. I don't see how this would get someone fired, it's not like you're looking at a porn site.
@Luke I know right? At first I thought "Why is this on Nintendo life?" then I thought she must have had cancer, since she only has one breast. Sorry, but I will not buy a game based on sexy images or on pity.

Honestly, I should take offense to this as an American, but I can't. All my friends except one are female. Most men my age (19-20ish) in America have no respect for women, and objectify them constantly. It sickens me that I am associated with them, even in a "broad view", but I know I strive to be better than that, even if my countrymen do not.
