@billy-beauts: You mean Trials Evolution? Right now it's just an XBLA game and we're concentrating on finishing up that version! We just aren't big enough to bring every game we do to every platform, part of the fun of being an indie.

IGN posted a great review!

I think you have to finish the race after you've collected the spirits for the game to save them. However, you can ignore the ghost or other opponent and spend all the time you need getting the spirits. Just keep pressing select (or minus, whatever it's called) to keep restarting the race afterward. Even when you're restarting the race (because you're not finishing in time) the game will remember that you've collected spirits. That's what I do.

You don't have to finish the race to save collected spirits. After all, some of spirits are so cleverly hidden that you can't finish the race. You might have to commit a couple suicides to collect everything... Spirits are saved immediately as they are collected.

Same thing doesn't go with coins. You have to finish race to save collected coins, but you don't have to beat the ghost.

Basically you need at least three playthroughs for the game. One for the silver medals, one for the collectibles and one time for the gold medals.

I'm only on the first few stages and can't figure out how to reach some collectables.
There's one on the second stage that's up really high. I can see it just before using the boost item to climb the steep hill.
I tried going in reverse and using the boost power up but that isn't working.
Maybe if somebody would make a guide or post a youtube walkthrough.
I can see I'm going to have a hard time with alot of these spirits.

I'm really not liking this game too much... it's a well-made game and all, but it's BORING. The physics are so wonky that it's impossible to execute your strategy for a given course with any consistency, since if you're going 1 mph too fast or too slow or your angle is off by one degree at a certain point then something completely different than what you wanted will happen and you'll fail, and replaying the courses over and over and having to keep your car at the EXACT speed and angle you need at all times just isn't fun. And why doesn't the game use tilt controls to control the angle of your car? D-pad controls just aren't accurate enough for a game which requires such extreme precision like this.

@Jenkki well it's nice to see you bringing great games like Moto Heroz to Wii anyway. And I hope you change your mind about Trials on Playstation, as I think it would be a really good fit.

@everyone go buy Moto Heroz!!!

As I've said before in this thread, this is an old-school game. This is the way we played games before the N64 era. You had no right to beat a game. You had earn that right by playing over and over again and becoming skilled. With that said, if it's not your cup of tea, that's fine. Certainly can't expect every last person to enjoy this game.

But RedLynx knows what it's doing. They make challenging games and their customers love it. That is why Trials HD sold 2 million copies. We love these challenges. Hell, what you described is no different than Super Mario Bros. One miscalculation or holding the D-pad for one second too long can cause a death. Same with Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Contra, etc. RedLynx gets my praise for treating us with respect and not dumbing down the game.

As far as tilt controls, I think I have the answer. Your buggy can flip over at any time, and it doesn't crash or reset when this happens. If you were using tilt controls for that, you'd have match the on-screen movements exactly. So you'd have to turn the Wii remote upside-down, and then keep spinning it every time your car spun on screen. I don't think that would work well. You can actually do half a dozen back flips off of certain jumps. Imagine trying to twirl the Wii remote that many times without dropping it.

I'm definitely buying this game as soon as the Nintendo Points card that I ordered from Amazon gets here. I loved Trials HD so I'm pretty sure that I will love this game too.

Only real problem I have with this game is the difficulty. I try to duplicate what the Ghost buggy is doing and fail way too often.
Graphics are great and the music is catchy but man is it ever tricky to master.
I gotta admit I'm not quite ready to call this a masterpiece but it's one of the better Wiiware games.
Still a little dissapointed though. The easily frustrated might wanna steer clear.

I just didn't find it very difficult. More trial and error than anything. And don't pay attention to the ghost driver, that will throw you off.

The gameplay sounds very similar to Trials HD which was pretty darn difficult. Trials can be very frustrating, especially on the later stages. A lot of it is trial and error but it is still lots of fun. Even with a regular control pad on the Xbox 360 it took me a while to get accustomed to the controls. I don't think that motion controls would benefit Moto Heroz at all. I am glad to hear that they decided to stick with more traditional controls on the Wii.

I had a pretty hard time when the courses started having those loop de loops. When you have to suddenly go backwards and up a steep curve it screws me up everytime. Then my buggy flips over and the race is basically lost.
Kinda annoying when you're on a roll.

Always try weird things when things aren't going right with you. Try flipping when you don't really see a need to do so. Sometimes you can gain traction and a speed edge by doing something completely out of the ordinary.

Really enjoying this game. It takes a while to get the controls but when you do it's very satisfying. I spent ages on the spider battle before I realised that mashing the accelerate button was counter productive and it was all about building speed for the jumps using natural momentum.
Love the art style and level design. It reminds me of the stunt stages of Muppet Racemania.

@ jenkki, Pahannes: Congratulations on making such an awesome game. I am addicted. Easily one of the best, if not the best, WiiWare games. Only thing it is lacking is online multiplayer. But I am having more fun with online leaderboards than I ever thought I would. I can't recommend this enough.

I'm already intrigued by the future DLC, btw.

Maybe that issue is related to the upcoming DLC @Peterifico.

I´ve waited a long time to get to play this. One of the best WiiWare releases, go and buy it so we´ll get more great downloadable titles for Nintendo consoles in the future. Cleared story mode today (still have to collect coins, spirits and most gold medals) and had great fun with multiplayer.

But propably the most addicting stuff in the game is the online leaderboard. I was 7th in the clobal ranking a moment ago and my brother wa 9th, I hope there´ll be more players in the future and getting into top 10 or 15 takes lot of time and skill (I´m not too good at this really). Does anyone know if the leaderboard points reset every week? If not, then it´s impossible for the new players to fight for the top places since they´ve got all the points from the previous challences.

Also waiting for DLC.

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.

will this game offer free DLC?

@Peterifico: Single player adventure can be played with 2 cars only (1st and 2nd half of the game). The single player campaign is the story of Gene McQuick and he owns only two cars. Some of the cars are playable in online challenges depending on level and all vehicles are playable in party rally. The real reason why we limited the choice of cars is because usually the level design works best with only one vehicle. For example there might be jumps in some levels that simply cannot be cleared with Arachnotank.

@Luffymcduck: Currently the scores do not reset, but we realize that this is an issue. Don't worry, we're working on it.
