They're doing one final, FINAL lotcheck to get a release date out there. I, for one, am glad they're pretty much willing to tell us everything that's going on in their company. A lot of publishers just keep all that in the dark.
P.S. Rumor going around they're including the DLC in the main game for NA and EU releases for waiting patiently

I've been wanting to get this for a long time. At this point I don't expect it's ever being released. We all know how Nicalis like to take their sweet ass time.

Not technically the publisher's fault, but rather the faults of the slow responding on NoA and NoE's parts. Still, it's been well over two years since the game was announced, I understand all the wait and patience we must have to see it through.
BTW, the only news I can really offer comes from Nicalis' Twitter.
From October 22nd: "It's being reviewed by Nintendo for release. We should hear back in a couple of weeks."
Sorry guys, but this is the time where we have to crack down. You all have other things to do besides waiting for this, obviously Trust me, though, it'll be worth it in the end
