Ah, help... Mega Man 9 or Retro City Rampage?

I think Mega Man 9 is a better game and would recommend it first... but I grew up playing ever game in the series on NES and absolutely adored the return to form. So take that bias into account. (I also think 9 is clearly better than 10, for what's it worth.)

Retro City Rampage has some rough edges, but it's got more humor and is also a cool game. If you like picking out parodies and bits of gaming reference, this is also a great choice.

How come no one ever talks about Liight? I haven't played many WiiWare games, so I don't know how it fares against the other games on the service, but I have played Liight and I absolutely loved it. It was a relaxing game and pretty fun and challenging. I've also played World of Goo (well, the demo), and it bored the crap out of me. I seriously think it's overrated.

Ooh... good call. Liight is a very good puzzle game. In some ways, it reminds me of Auditorium (http://www.cipherprime.com/games/auditorium/) in the aesthetics and way it plays with music. Style and gameplay differ... but I think if you enjoy one then the other would probably also be cool. Warning: not for the color-blind.

Why did it get ignored? By the Liight was released, WiiWare was already a dead platform. So few people were playing/reviewing it that the game was ignored by most. It's a shame, really.

luke17, great list, I know that are great games but someone impressed me, can you do a quick review or impressions about some games? Big Kahuna, Magnetis and Plattchen, to see if download them too.

P.D. Sorry my weird english, I try to write it like i imagine the sentences.

Hey DarkEdi,

Big Kahuna Party is a very underrated, highly addictive, relaxing "match 3" puzzler. It is very fun to play with a friend to clear the puzzles together, and there is a combo system that will give you bombs to use on the board. The game keeps track of your high scores, and you can earn new fish to put into a virtual aquarium in the game. It's not the most original game out there, but it perfects the "match 3" puzzle system.
Plattchen is a very oddball, sometimes confusing puzzle game that takes alot of patience to get into. (But it's worth it I think) The graphics are impressive, and the game throws alot of random challenges at you. It's probably one of the most polarizing and controversial games on Wiiware out there. People either love it or hate it! If you are looking for something very different it would be worth a try.
Magnetis is cheap $5 game that is fun to play alone or with a friend. Nothing spectacular about it but it's great for a quick pick-up-and-play anytime. It is a falling-block puzzler but takes a unique approach in its mechanics. Again, pretty fun to beat your high score in this one.
In my opinion, Liight is a superior puzzle game than these 3, but Big Kahuna has been more addicting for me, and the other 2 would be worth picking up if you are looking for unique puzzle games that you've never experienced before.

Star Soldier R is great. So is Contra Rebirth. Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth is ok but if you are going to play it then play it before Rondo of Blood as Rondo is what it should have been like. (The Adventure Rebirth is like somebody tried to clone Rondo which is the real deal).

Best Balanced Board game is Horizon Riders. (Use the zapper and balance board).

Warioware DIY showcase is quite good if you have the DS version.

Bit.Trip Runner
La Mulana
Excitebike: World Rally
Pearl Harbor Trilogy
Mega Man 9
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

The After Years is really badly made. It is basically just a none stop grind with nowhere enough story. (I never bothered with the challenge dungeons probably should have but that sort of thing has never been an issue with any of the other SNES era final fantasies for me).

Love how it's "Pearl Harbor Trilogy" when there is only one game...and there never will be another one.

Robox - Great atmospheric, overlooked 2D metroidvania with a huge world, and tons of secrets to find and puzzles to solve. It's kinda slowpaced and oldschool challenging in the beginning but with a few move-upgrades (doublejump ftw) and energy-tanks the game gets easier, and you gain more control over your little droid and more access to its huge world. It's 1000pts so if you're into these kinds of games check it out.

I tried the demo and I agreed with most reviewers that this game was pretty frustrating and yet not so fun nor replayable. However, many also said similar things about Liight which I think is great, can you believe some pages like IGN gave it a 7 because it was "too challenging"? Maybe I'll try a second run on that Robox demo.
BTW, anyone liked Frobot? I played the demo and looks quite good, the few reviews I found say it's really good.

Star Soldier R is pretty good problem is with only one level you get to the point where you cannot really do much better too quickly.
