There are quite a few WiiWare games in Japan where we have no idea if they could get localized or not. Which games stand out in your eyes that you'd think would work well in other regions?
I was only asking where "here" was We have many games (from NA/JPN) that have to be "localized" for PAL.
In that case: Aero Guitar Atsui 12 Game Furi Furi Party Harvest Moon Series: Ranch Store Kimi to Boku to Rittai (You, Me and Shape) - Thanks Sean for those impressions. Mr. Driller World Pole’s Big Adventure
I feel like saying "Doki Doki Majo Shinpan!" for lulz, but at the risk of sounding like a paedofile, (and at the risk of looking like a fool for posting the game in a WiiWare thread), I'll have to say Pole's Big Adventure. That, or Bit.Trip, Tiki Towers and LIT, which you guys in NA have whilst us Europeans don't.
If Sega wanted to release Pole's Big Adventure, it is fine, but to make it seem a bigger selling point of a retro parody, they would want to replace all the blood, gore, and nudity/sexual content with more cartoon gags and glitches.
I hope they release Pole as it is (in English) if they do localize. I also just plain hope they localize it.
[21:14] pixelman: I blame fheblackdragon

[21:15] pixelman: OB knows what he's asking about.
Pole is really awesome (finally beat the first boss in hard mode and found my 89th and 90th NETA).
Is Mr. Driller World confirmed, I didn't realise that...
Yakuman Wii would be cool so Nintendo could spread the mahjong love to the culturally backward nations of the northern hemisphere; I think Sunsoft should also take a chance with Shanghai Wii.
Overturn would also be nice to see so I could play anyone in the same timezone in online robot battles.
Yes, yes. Our Bit.Trip: beat xD I see that Puzzle Bubble releases in Japan o.Ô I want it next week with bit.trip:beat! But i should buy another 2000points card for this two games...
What's about Mahjongg or Go or even shôgi? There are so many asian typical games which will never come to europe/north america...
I'm not sure if I'd buy a Go or Shogi game. On the one hand, I can play online for free; on the other hand, Shogi opponents are tough to find, and those I do find are too hard to beat.
If Shogi got localized it absolutely needs an optional piece set with pictorial symbols rather than Japanese kanji. I learned to play using these kanji on Nintendo's Clubhouse Games, but even after many games it felt very foreign to me and I constantly mixed up pieces, especially promoted pieces. The complete lack of online opponents was probably due to this unfortunate oversight. Symbols like on the pieces at PlayOK.com are a lot easier for westerners to recognize and would be so easy to implement.
It's a shame that Wii Chess disc released in Europe didn't get a more robust package with Shogi, Xiang Qi, and maybe one or two other popular forms of chess in addition to FIDE chess. It might have been more worthwhile (though I can't really comment on it much since it wasn't released here in America).
I live in NA, so I would love to see these titles localized over here are Let's Zenryoku Hitchhike!!!!!!!!! because nine exclamation marks are extreme! And Tōkyō City Nights because I am such a sucker for dating sims. D=
I've seen video on that Hitchhike game and it looks a bit...weird. If it wasn't 1000 points and there weren't other titles I'm interested in coming out next week I'd probably buy it just to experience the weirdness of making simple gestures to try to entice blocky polygonal vehicles into coming my way...
