All overrated games.

Good job on knowing what forum the OP was posted in.

I only have four WiiWare games so not much to regret, though Driift Mania turned out to not be as much fun as I thought it would be ... so I guess I regret buying that one.

Gyrostarr. Ugh.

I liked that game. The motions controls sucked, but switching it to the D-pad made it fairly decent. Reminds me of the freeware game Torus Trooper

It was a first time I brought a game back due to it being crap. Waste of 20 euro's.

WIIWARE people. Not retail.

It felt so gangly to me. The sense of speed was not there, the controls felt too stiff and everything just seemed kinda lifeless. It's the one WiiWare game I truly regret buying.

I've only bought 3 Wiiware games.
-Bomberman Blast
-Mega Man 9
-Castlevania ReBirth

And I can't enjoy them more.

  • Defend Your Castle
  • Pop Them, Drop Them Samegame

Both games are made for multiplayer, but I can't find people who like to play these two games with me.
Single player isn't worth it, DYC is too repetitive and Samegame is too shallow compared to other games of the same puzzle genre that are freeware like Super Collapse.

  • Family & Friends Party

This is multiplayer only and shows it's potential only when playing with at least 4 players, so it's difficult to get 3 people together playing this with me. And it crashes before you can finish a single game, that's why no one wants to play it.
And half of the Miis won't show up in the Mii selection screen, so most of my friends have to pick generic default characters instead of the Miis they haved saved onto my Wii.

  • My Aquarium

I could have lived without it.

Okay, now i feel much better. Impusle buying is possible even wen you're not in a store.ugh...

And I didn't want this to be a Wiiware only thread, just downloadable content only. My thing against having Wii games in this thread was simply because you can sell the disc games back to the store (for a full refund in the case of the used games at Gamestop), or at an online store like Amazon.

This thread could be DsiWare or Virtual Console too.

But with the download services, it seems that once you download them, you're stuck with them, and money wasted on crappy games is money down the toilet.

Hmmm, my question now is, who here has wasted the most Nintendo Points?

With my initial list added up, I've wased 4300 Nintendo points on games i never play.

Anyone here find their tally is higher than mine?

@RowdyRodimus Why would you buy Reel Fishing? The title alone with it's cute spelling would turn me off. Then again, i bought Quick Draw Showdown because i thought the live action would have been "quirky" enough for me to play it a lot.

...it wasn't.

The only WiiWare game that I really regret buying is Muscle March. My 500 points should have went towards a nice NES game instead. Sigh.

AC: LGTTC Urgh. Big Brain Academy Meh. Pokemon Battle Revolution Urrrgh.

EDIT: Saw that this was in WiiWare. >_<

For WiiWare:

  • Pokemon Rumble
    Pretty fun, but repetitive.

And....

Oh wait, I don't own anymore WiiWare. Ah well.

Hey, I really like FFCC: Darklord! My only regret is it's plagued with DLC. But I'm playing it through without for the challenge (and they're a ripoff).

Maboshi
My Aquarium

There's probably more, but that's all I feel like listing right now.

I spent 6700 points on Darklord with all it's DLC. It was the greatest burn of money ever.
The price is totally not acceptable and I should have skipped the game altogether.
I could have downloaded 13 NES or 6 N64 games instead.

That plus Samegame (500), My Aquarium (500), Defend your Castle (500) and Family & Friends Party (1000)
for a total of 9200 pts that are wasted on WiiWare games I never play anymore..

Are you playing Driift Mania alone or with friends? I was interested in the game, but without having a couple of friends to play it with regularly the game didn't seem worthwhile.

O_O
That is really absurd.
My only regret is Bit.Trip Core. I should have actually looked up a gameplay video because I didn't know what kind of game it was. Turns out the genre was 'boring.'

Even though I hated StarTropics I still don't regret buying it, because at least I've played it now. And the rest of my WW/VC games are awesome.

Harvest Moon My Little Shop. Good god this was a terrible impulse buy. I'm a big fan of Harvest Moon and thought this would be at least decent. I was dead wrong.

I also bought both Texas Holdem games as I'm a sucker for anything Texas Holdem. Not even online saves these games.

LostWinds. Despite the hype I was pretty disappointed with the game. I didn't like the controls at all and just found myself bored and frustrated.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find WiiWare still quite expensive. I only buy games that receive great overall/aggregate scores (normally 80+ on Metacritic). I only own five WiiWare games, but they happen to be the ones which the critics said were great, and hence I have no regrets when it comes to buying games. This goes for my other consoles, too.

I bought Eat! Fat! FIGHT! a few weeks ago, and I'd call it a minor regret. It's fun, but I can't manage how to do the techniques (especially the more flamboyant ones) - so it's just case of slapping the opponent, grabbing him/her, furiously tapping the grapple button (making sure not to open yourself up to a throw) and throwing them to the ground. I still find it quite easy, though it was a bit expensive.

Pokémon Rumble, however was a complete letdown (even though I played the demo), although my Brother wanted me to buy it for him, so he gave me some money for it. The Pokémon are completely expendable as you find newer, more powerful doubles and you simply discard the chaff - which is not what Pokémon is supposed to be about. That poor Rattata (of which you begin the game with) is pretty much obselete after your first Pikachu and Caterpie.
