Hey guys,I just had an awesome idea!
Why dosen't Nintendo release a WiiWare version of The Legend of Zelda:Four Swords with Wi-fi? I have only played a little bit of Four Swords Adventure on single-player mode,but I KNOW just how much fun a online multiplayer Zelda game would be! What is everybody's thoughts on this idea?

Never played it, but any online zelda game would appeal to me. =)

They were making a DS game a while back according to NP, but it vanished...
I hope another FS game pops up soon, don't care if it's WiiWare/DS/Wii...I just want one so we can play online! lol

Nintendo is keeping their big guns away from WiiWare.

WiiWare is supposed to be for indie devs.

I'm not sure why people want to hurt the indie devs when Nintendo can just as easily release a retail game.

That would be awesome, but as Alex said, that would hurt indie developers, which is what Wiiware is really meant for.

Four Swords would make more sense on DS. You already have two screens on each system. It would be pointless to have four DS's hooked up to a Wii. What would you ever need three screens for?

A Four swords game would be great!!

Hyped about : Metroid other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii,Golden Sun DS and the new Legend of Zelda!

@AlexSays
I understand that,Alex. To be honest with you,I really don't care how they release Four Swords with Wi-fi. They can release Four Swords as a retail Wii game,a WiiWare game,a DS game,a DSiware game [although Four Swords will be too large for DSiWare],or even a NPC remake [I know you hate those].
I just want a Four Swords game with Wi-fi in it altogether. But I rather have a WiiWare version if I have a choice. I don't think a game like that will destroy indie devoloper's games.
If we can't have non-indie games on WiiWare,then we shouldn't have games like Mega Man 9 and Gradius Rebirth.

@BellGoRiiing
I heard that rumor,and I heard they decided to develope Phantom Hourglass instead,which sucks.

@Adam
Perhaps so,but does the Wii or WiiWare version have to require a bunch of DS handhelds just to play multiplayer?

@Kizzi
LOL,if the game comes out,I will.

Yes, the game needs the handheld to show where you are when you go off-screen. Split-screen would be too small, and keeping everyone on one-screen any other way would just be annoying (see Crystal Chronicles (GC) for more details). I suppose they could make it dungeon-based and have each room one screen big, but that would be cramped for four players and not be as exciting. A two-player game along those lines would probably be fun aside from the annoying fact that one person leaving a room would mean the other being warped mid-action (or, even worse, having to wait on both to get to the same door every time).

It could be wi-fi exclusive, but that is a trap. You play it and love it for a couple months to a year, and then it's not as popular anymore, harder to find people to play with, and it's no longer worth anything. Plus, everyone knows that playing with friends is a blast. You can't take the personal element out of Four Swords and expect it to be the same. It'd be fun, but not as fun.

DS is by far the most convenient way to do it. Oh, and maybe you weren't serious (hopefully), but NPC would not work for FSA. The game needs GBAs for play. Motion control is irrelevant.

I do hope that we see another Four Swords eventually, as it's a remarkable game, but on a side note, I'd be just as happy if we saw another versus mode like in Phantom Hourglass with the new Zelda or as a standalone DSiWare game. That game was more fun than the single-player of PH.

Nintendo would be stupid if they didn't include local multiplayer as well as Wi-fi. Unfortunely,I was serious about NPC. But I didn't think of those things,my bad. I also didn't think about the fact that you need a handheld for you own screen,my bad too.
Is the multiplayer in Phantom Hourglass that fun? I thought the whole game suck.

PH was okay in my opinion, dunno about the whole wifi thing though, never did bother with it.

If you have it still, give it a try (if anyone still plays it). It is not Zelda-like at at all, but if you can overlook that, it's great, simple fun.

TourianTourist

I would prefer a singleplayer Zelda game in the style of ALttP on WiiWare. And I prefer the small, addicting type of multiplayer games. The Battle Mode in Phantom Hourglass is great, so is the Battle Mode in Four Swords Adventures. Those are "simple and fun", like Adam said. While Four Swords is cool, it's too complex. I can't play it with my friends, because they aren't Zelda fans, and you can't just play it again and again. Like I said, I would prefer a normal singleplayer Zelda instead, retro style.

So, the best thing they could do on WiiWare is a new ALttP style Zelda game with a small additional multiplayer in the style of previous Zelda Battle Mode installments.

Yea, I agree with the tourist that you can't play FSA again and again. I played through it two or three times, and every time after the first it felt like a chore. Because of Zelda's over-reliance on puzzles in games since Ocarina, there's no challenge the next time through (except of course to escape the "friend" who keeps throwing you in holes, haha). However, if puzzles were balanced out with more combat, another Four Swords could be great. Even better would be if the dungeons were completely randomly generated to keep replays from being boring.

I don't expect any of that to happen though, of course. Hoping for a battle mode in Spirit Tracks akin to PH's is much more likely, and I'll gladly settle.
