The multi-player is nothing new or special, it was a feature in the original. All you do is assign any one or more of your characters to any other controller.
I liked playing that way in FF VI... nice touch.

Hey, I finally caved in and downloaded this game! I wasn't going to download it at first because of the hefty price tag but I'm sure glad that I did! I'm only an hour and 30 minutes into the game and so far I absolutely love it! This game is definitely a must buy for fans of Final Fantasy IV! Well, I'm hooked so I'm going back to play this now and as soon as I beat this chapter I am definitely going to download Rydia's chapter!

Thanks for the answers so far.But there is one more question:Do you have to complete the first chapter (or "tale") in order to progress to the second one (Rydias tale)? Or can you just start playing after the download, without having finished the prologue? Is there actually any order in the storyline you have to follow?

It seems you can play it in any order. I'd play the prologue first though because Rydia's Tale references it.

I just finished the main game with a little over eight hours on the game clock so it took me twice as long to finish. I really felt like I was getting my moneys worth when I got to the end of the third chapter. Then I found out about the extra dungeon challenge...

Eight hours? Wowie. I got to the credits around four.Did anyone else think the main quest was a little on the easy side? I died only a couple of times throughout it. However, Rydia's Tale is a different story

I actually found a few parts hard...and yeah, credits took me 5.5 hours (no deaths), but I was a little higher-leveled than absolutely necessary...I love the pacing. It's so efficient--I'm so familiar with FF4 that it almost feels like I'm practicing an instrument in middle school rather than enjoying a videogame, whereas this one just streamlines all the fun FF4 gameplay, remixes locations/adds a few new ones, and ups the difficulty. Plus, I can't spoil the whole game all at once--this weekly thing will allow me to savor the game!
While no one wants to spend 30+ dollars when they could have spent less, it was up to S-E, they chose what they chose...and its either pay the 30+ and enjoy the game, or don't....and don't play it. I'm glad I chose the former--having an absolute blast, and Rydia's quest is almost done; plus I still haven't died yet, despite some grueling close-calls!
This whole game reminds me of the "Rebirth" quest in FF2 advance (and I think the PSP version too) - the game's system, tweaked to be more difficult and more efficient, and remixing locations of items/enemies/etc. to reflect this.

I was switching back and forth allot between playing and watching E3 on G4, so I may have accidentally left the game unattended at some point which would have added some extra time on the game clock.

What about the story, do you like it?I think it is sometimes a bit confusing, even if you just played FF IV (so did I).

Mmm... this might sound noobish since I never played a Final Fantasy game, ever.
I like the structure, the DEEP story, I never expected how dramatic people can be. They fleshed out the characters quite well to feel what they're going through(I hate you Ceodore... I really do...). The gameplay is nice, I had the read the manual twice to know how everything works, like the fact that you CAN defend. Overall, I say it is well worth the 800 points.
When did games become so pretentious? Probably when Miyamoto got locked up for concepts.

Yes. The naysayers are the ones who haven't played the game yet. It seems like everyone who has played it is a convert.
I am looking forward to the next set of chapters.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

^same....so mad there weren't new chaps on the update Monday.....not that I expected them this soon, but one a week would have been kinda neat...guess they're gonna do the 3 more sets thing.

last I checked the operations manual said when the next chapters would be out:the release dates are 6/1, 7/6, 8/3 and then 9/17 for the end
