Sounds like my kind of game, but it also sounds too buggy.

Dang...shoulda read page 2 before I posted my comment. :/

I thought the whole point of Nintendo not allowing updates to its Wiiware titles was to prevent giant bugs like this from getting through?

Bah. After Cave Story ate my money, I'm definitely not in the mood to download something I already know is buggy.

Now I feel bad that my posts put people off from buying the game :( It's mildly annoying that the collision errors prevented me from collecting all of the game's treasures, but outside of not being able to get the last achievement it didn't impact the game in any way. It's still a very relaxing and enjoyable experience and if you're interested in it you shouldn't put off buying it because of that issue. However, I do agree with the sentiment that Wiiware games have been getting too buggy lately and that Nintendo needs to enforce better quality control going forward.

We'll check into the bug situation and I'll certainly follow up before I put the review live. Thanks for bringing them to our attention.

Yours were not the only bug reports, Accc. Others have even had it crash. When added up, it seems like the game was not nearly as well tested as it should have been. I can only go off of what I've read, but that's Nintendo's fault, not mine, for not having a demo service. I certainly appreciate yours and all other comments in this thread.

I am in discussion with one of the developers of the game and he is looking into it. You can beat the game by finding the main treasures with no problem, but those looking to locate all of the smaller treasures might have problems and that's not something that should be overlooked. I too have experienced a treasure that I was unable to touch for some reason, so there is a glitch of some sort. As far as how prevalent it is, I'll do some more playing and stay in contact with the developer to find out. Anyone that experiences any bug or glitch, please post in this topic. Thanks.

I didn't see one false accusation in here -- mostly because there are no accusations at all. Everyone who's played it in this thread has said that he thoroughly enjoyed it. A few have said they had experienced bugs of varying severity. Unless you're calling these people liars, I'm not sure what your problem is with bug reports. And if you're complaining about those of us worried about buying the game due to bug reports, then first of all, that isn't an "accusation" (nor is it false), and secondly, it's our money. But most importantly, it isn't any of your business, so live with it.

The game is not "full of glitches". That is a false statement. I won the game and never had a single freeze or treasure I couldn't get to. A few minor glitches have been reported by others. There are minor glitches in most games, including Zelda.

All of a sudden the game just crashed while I was still playing that stage. It froze completely and I couldn't do anything but unplug my Wii. The game booted up just fine when I turned it on again but I noticed that all the progress that I made in that stage had been erased. I even lost an achievement that I just got.

You and I apparently have different definitions of "minor."

But either way, if someone doesn't want to buy the game, that's his own business.

@InvisibleTune: Didn't encounter one glitch either. You're right in saying that the game is not full of glitches.

That's only true if you're going to be utterly semantic. Obviously the one instance someone said that, he meant that there were quite a few glitches, which is true whether everyone experiences them or not, unless we're to accuse two users in this thread of lying (and apparently conspiracy, since it wasn't just one person).

I don't doubt they're there. All I'm saying is that the game isn't so glitchy that you shouldn't get the game.

He said it froze one time. Obviously the progess he made was lost because he wasn't able to save the game. He also said, "the game is really enjoyable so I don't mind replaying the stage again". KS8 summed up the point we are both trying to get across nicely above.

I know WolfRam still recommended the game, but that wasn't my point or (I believe) Chicken's. Glitches just pull me out of the experience. It's my personal preference. Nothing remotely "ridiculous" about that. But thank you for clarifying.

Well the glitches are currently being looked at, so there's no need to make a fuss over it.

I was interested in this game but I'm not going to buy this game now.
I hate when a game freezes... and even more I hate glitches that make a game uncompleteable.

I already spent 5000 Wii Points for WiiWare games with freezing glitches (Tales of Monkey Island Chapters 1~5) and 2000 Points on games with bugs that made them unplayabale, unbeatable and unenjoyable (Family & Friends Party, Lead the Meerkats). That's 7000 points for bug-ridden games that could have been so much more fun. No thanks.

I want to be sure that a game isn't broken in such serious ways - and a reliable review site should always cover up those important flaws!
If these games were on a disk I would bring them back to the shop and exchange my money back instantly!

The only game that Nintendo exchanged for me was Last Ninja 3 - they erased the game from my account (and from the Wii Shop) and I got my 500 Wii Points back on my account.

As has been stated already, you can beat the game perhaps without ever even encountering a glitch (like me). The issues that prevent players from mastering the game (100%, all treasures) are being looked at. The game is not unplayable at all. Just like Jett Rocket, even if there's a chance you'll encounter a glitch, it's still a great game that's worth buying for the experience. I can understand your hesitation, though. Especially after F&FP. But I assure you this game isn't "bug-ridden".

SKTTR, this site does cover bugs, but apparently they didn't encounter any while preparing the review, which certainly bodes well for the game. Still, I share your concerns. I won't get it any time soon but might eventually.

For me personally, mastering/completing a game (100%) is very important.
It's part of the game and I just don't play for beating to see the ending and credits - I play for playing ... and then I play for completing.

From what I understand - there are bugs in Dive that prevent you from getting 100% treasures on your save - and that's a very bad bug already! - (Reminding me of N64 game Space Station Silicon Valley where you could get 99% but couldn't collect one item that was needed to complete the game 100% and unlocking a bonus level) No, if I understand the Dive bugs correctly they're permanent and unavoidable and this is not comparable to the perfectly completeable/masterable Jett Rocket with its minor rare clipping glitch.

It's nice to see Cosmonaut Games looking into the issues, but it's only good enough if they fix the bugs and update the game.
