I beat the game, actually. I gotta double check how many hours, exactly. But I think it's roughly the same length as Jett Rocket. And no, it's not easy but at the same time, I never once got frustrated with the game, which is great.
I purchased the game yesterday evening and it's a worthwhile purchase. It's definately not too easy. It can be quite challenging at times manuevering around dangerous plants or animals, especially with the limited amout of darts for your gun. I played for probably 90 minutes and completed the first 3 levels to advance the story, however there was a lot more to find on each level. I hadn't found over half of the hidden treasures on each of the levels and plan to go back and try to find everything. My one complaint is having to hold the B button to swim. My fingers became sore and my hand was cramping up. I had to keep switching hands to relieve the symptoms. Using the A button would have made much more sense (gravity is your friend and thumbs are stronger than index fingers), or having the diver start swimming with one push of the B button and stop with a second push.
There unfortunately seems to be a glitch on Tortuga Island (level 6) which is preventing my from collecting one of the small treasures. About halfway between the two buoy checkpoints there's a maze of spiky purple plants, and in the upper left part of the maze there's a small alcove with a treasure guarded by an eel. There's a narrow passageway leading to the alcove that I should be able to fit through, but the game won't let me through. I tried checking the adjacent walls hoping to find an invisible passage, even going all the way around the level to the other side of the opposite wall, but with no luck. It seems there's a problem with the collision detection in that area, because I can't even swim into the spiky purple plant near the passageway to take damage, as if there was an invisible wall blocking it.
Interesting discovery. If I knew exactly where it was, I'd check it out myself. Maybe I'll try to go off your rough description and see what I can find.
I just discovered an annoying glitch in the game. After purchasing the fourth diving suit upgrade I decided to go back and explore the first stage to collect all of the treasure. I managed to uncover almost every treasure. I just needed one more small treasure then the entire stage would have been complete. All of a sudden the game just crashed while I was still playing that stage. It froze completely and I couldn't do anything but unplug my Wii. The game booted up just fine when I turned it on again but I noticed that all the progress that I made in that stage had been erased. I even lost an achievement that I just got. Hopefully this was just a random occurrence. Oh well, the game is really enjoyable so I don't mind replaying the stage again.
@KS8: Yeah, I don't think it is a game-breaking glitch either. It seemed more random than anything. I've encountered similar glitches in other WiiWare games before so I'm just going to shrug it off and keep enjoying the game. If it happens again, I'll be sure to let you guys know.
I've had a few occurences where the game paused for a couple of seconds while firing the harpoon, after which the harpoon would miss all enemies even if it went right through them. That's only a minor glitch though, not nearly as bad as being unable to collect all of the treasures.
Any sunken pirate ships in the game? If I wasn't too thrilled with the Ecco the Dolphin games will I like this better? I just thought Ecco was too frustrating because of the difficulty. The goals of the stages were usually unclear and starting over everytime you ran out of lives was annoying. Is Dive more forgiving?

Once you fully upgrade your radar finding all of the treasures is a breeze, since it shows you the location of treasures on your map when you get near them Though annoyingly, if you replay a level the treasures don't respawn but they do show up on the map again, and since they only disappear from the map when you collect them you can't make them go away on the map. So getting them all could be difficult/confusing if you don't get them on your first try.
Level 9 is pretty buggy lol. You can literally swim off the edge of the map! Just go to the lower right-most part of the level. On the map it looks like there should be a wall there stopping you, but you can keep on swimming down and to the right until you eventually reach a black border on the right and a light blueish border on the bottom (at which point your position doesn't even register on the map any more). You can also go up and around to other parts of the map you shouldn't be able to reach. There isn't really that much to see but I still thought it was cool.
Great, there's another treasure in level 10 that's impossible to get because of the game's glitchy collision detection. There's no mistaking that it's a glitch; there's nothing in the scenery that should be impeding my progress, but he still won't swim into it. They really need to release an update, because otherwise it's impossible to finish 100%.
EDIT - Make that 2 treasures in level 10 that can't be collected because they're surrounded by invisible walls.

Well that's lame. I was really considering to DL this. Are you sure it's not just your file? Anyone else DL it and have the same problem?
I just beat the game. To unlock the ending and credits sequence you have to find a dolphin statue hidden in each of the first 9 levels and return to the end of the 10th level. It appears that not being able to collect all of the treasures only prevents you from getting one of the achievements, so it's not that big of a deal I guess.
PS congrats on getting your name in the credits KS8!
Great to see such positive feedback about this one. I really thought this deserved to do well. I'm in no rush to buy more Wii points, but when I do, this will probably be on my shopping list.
