Did anyone get this and enjoy it? Even after the average review, I was excited to try this.... and for some reason never got it. Now I'm looking back over the review comments, and I see no mention of anyone but the reviewer, Sean, playing it. It'd be nice if the forum had a key word search feature (you can only search by user -- and only some users -- now, right?), but for now I'll just have to start a new thread if there is already one.

I will probably get this game soon, but before I do I was going to see if anyone else tried the game and had any input on its worth. The need for coordination is not that offputting for me. Being the weird guy that I am, I actually prefer playing Bit Trip Beat with two controllers, and sometimes try to much less success playing four controllers (in clean socks, I promise). Of course, moving one ship with an analog stick, one with a pointer, and one with... um, I'm not sure, nunchuk motion controls or D-pad?... is different because you're doing two or three different types of controls at once, not just multiple instances of the same kind of motion like in Bit Trip Beat... so maybe it will be tougher than I suspect.

Anyway, um, say something, people who've played this.

You know that if a game ends with a "z", somethings not right.

Hopefully I can be of assistance (and I'm sure I will be given what's already been said):
In short, it's a unique game and has some great co-op elements but it's very frustrating for the single player because of some design choices. You may think you'll be good at the co-ordination but trust me, it's very difficult especially in the later stages. If there's no chance you'll play this with another person, I wouldn't suggest getting it but that's just my opinion. Don't get me wrong though: it's far from a bad game. Just slightly flawed that's all. There's a bit of a struggle to like the game despite what's been done no matter how much you think the concept works (at least, that's what I found).

You can read all about it in my review.

longtimegamer asked about ColorZ a while ago as well - I wonder if he ended up getting it.

Nice review KS8. The devs did indeed set out to make a challenging experience in response to what they saw as a lot of internet opinion that games were becoming "too easy," but sadly they went too far the other way! I still have it on my system and even went for gold on the earlier levels to earn enough credits to unlock some of the later ones, but I don't know that I'll ever unlock them all because they get so maddeningly difficult!

It's a game that will even make ambidextrous people's brains hurt!

Someone posted this elsewhere, but I can't remember who, sorry.

It's a guy, playing 3-player Colorz, on his own. At one point in the video I was certain his head was gonna pop.
Get the Flash Player to see this player.

I'm tempted by this game too, thanks for the review KS8.

Wow, I'm really impressed. I remember the pain of that level; the fact that he got gold is even more incredible given his control interface!

Oh, and to the young lady in the video: please please please lose the lip ring, that's just nasty.

Now that's the kind of insanity I'm into. I can't promise equal quality, but I'll probably give running impressions in chat this evening like I did for Bit Boy. Also, to the woman in the video, don't listen to Sean. You are very beautiful. Voulais-vous faire quelque chose cette week-end?

I have the game, and while I think it has potential, the experience is geared towards a multiplayer experience more. It's not impossible to master the single player game, but it gets frustrating pretty quickly since it DOES take a while for your mind to adjust to the fact that you are controlling three individual characters with three individual control schemes towards ONE goal.

I think this should have been its own mode, call it "Insanity Mode", not make it part of the main game. That ways, players can enjoy the game, and if they want the extra challenge they can just choose it from the main menu.

OK, this is plain stupid as a single-player game. Even controlling two ships just doesn't feel right. I tried both the normal way and playing "multi-player" mode so I could try using two Wii remotes instead of nunchuk. I thought if both hands were performing similar actions it would be easier, but it was actually harder, especially since one remote for some reason is more sensitive than the other? Who knew.

However, the levels with single ship were a lot of fun, and I expect the game is awesome for multi-player, so I'll have to try that as soon as possible.
