Topic: Cave Story probably coming monday!

It looks like we won't be seeing Cave Story in 2009 after all:

@y2josh: corbie's said before in chat that they'd submitted it more than once and Nintendo told them there were bugs that needed to be worked out. that's what he meant by 'they're still tweaking it'.

I suspect Mid-January or Early February for this game. I guess this is how it turned out.

1.Cave Story announced for Wii and playable in October 2008 - Extremely early demo, music grating, small area
2.By Late-Spring, game is getting closer to completion, so they state Summer release as the end point.
3.Nintendo shows off improved demo at E3, the title complete and ready to submit
4.First Submission around June-ish 2009 - Fails, due to many lot-checks and requirements from Nintendo (expected for a new publisher to mess up).
5.Fail to release last week August (thus why Mr. Driller W was the only release that week, I imagine)
6.Second Submission around the End of September 2009 - Fails again, but the bugs are minuscule.
7.Third Submission in Early November 2009 - Accepted, but 2009 lineup for December is extremely crowded (4 games a week!)
8.Game pushed to 2010 lineup, hopefully for January or February.

I hope they get really good DLC. Not just boss rush and time trial stuff. I mean, they have an engine, now. Make some new levels or something. Or have changed gameplay for other characters. And I don't have a DSi (I'll get one when the XL comes out), but I imagine Ikachan either being a 500 point WiiWare title with a good amount of added content, DLC for this game, or a DSiWare title.

It would be so funny if Cave Story still ends up winning Nintendo Power's 2009 WiiWare Game of the Year.

MAybe we'll et lucky and it will break the rules and come out like, on the first of January.

I just filled out another survey where I voted Cave Story for all the catagories it was nominated for. And yes, I have a life, I just choose to ignore it.
