It seems so: http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=27675

Gradius, Contra, Castlevania. Logical ^^

Also, i'm expecting a remake of the Castlevania gameboy "Adventure" ( Like Gradius Rebirth a remake of the Nemesis gameboy episode). I think it's good idea, this Adventure deserve a remake!

But....Where is Salamander Rebirth?

I'm not so sure about this one. It's good to hear that Castlevania is getting the rebirth treatment but to use The Castlevania Adventure as a base for a remake? Am I the only one a little concerned here? I mean, that is probably the worst Castlevania in existence. If they wanted to do a remake why not do it with Dracula's curse on NES. Or even the original game? I will also be very dissapointed if it's another five stage game like Gradius and Contra rebirth.

The new word is "Rebirth" lol. Remember with the SNES everything had "Super" in the title?

Doesn't mean the Rebirth has to be just as bad.

I could imagine that they create a game that is similar to Castlevania IV. It's one of the more modern non-RPG Castlevania games which many people like. And Konami seems to like remaking SNES games.

Instant download. Hmm.. I think I'll even pick up Gradius Rebirth in anticipation, even though the Corbster gave it a mediocre review..

Gradius Rebirth was a good game, Corbie's review aside. If you like Gradius, it's worth buying--it's that simple. Corbie's never been a Gradius fan, so keep that in mind (I think I actually convinced him to give 5 a shot once I solidified that Treasure had it's hand in KCET's development) before taking that review as gospel truth. Although, as mentioned above, I think Salamander would've been a much better series to remake given the 2player co-op.

I've been positively trembling with anticipation of some type of 2player mode for CVA:R...local Castlevania co-op would own so, so hard.

Agreed.. instant buy for me too. I'm glad they're taking a lesser Castlevania game (with AWESOME music) and remaking it. This has really made my day - I can't wait to see screenshots!

I hope it won't be too long before a release.

I imagine it'll come out before the holidays, since

1. That's when game sales spike, and Konami probably wants in on that money.
2. Games are usually ESRB-rated when they're finished.

Well, my review isn't terribly in-depth, but I thought I was fair -- no scores on my blog, sorry!

With regards to this title I fully expect an arcade-style score attack experience. I'd be very surprised to see a full-on Castlevania game with 10-15 bosses or whatever Castlevania IV was. Given how cheap that game got, I certainly hope this one will offer something new, though naturally if it comes out in Japan first I'll be sure to pick it up just to tell you guys how much I dislike it ^_~!

At first it was "Super" and then it was "Advanced" and now its "Rebirth"... I actually don't mind these remakes by Konami, they introduce the game to a new audience like myself who hasn't played much of them (Gradius, Contra, Castlevania) in the past.

why are some people using the word "remake" in this thread. It's not necessarily going to be a remake. Could just be using a similar setting or visual style as C:tA, or reimagining the original. Contra: Rebirth wasn't a remake
