I'm thinking there is no special ending. It's a kind of sudden way of ending it sure, but it was a solid and fitting ending to one of the best game series ever.
OHMYGODTHESEBOSSESARESOAWESOMANDSOWHATTHE! Like when that second boss reverses? or how that irst boss is a combination of the second and third bosses from BEAT?
Copied over from my Tvtropes thread (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=ywd6ysokx9wcwtdaikumhj20&page=2#48):
From a Joystiq poster:
[[quoteblock]]What I loved about Beat was its eagerness to f*** with you. It wasn't tough-but-fair; it was unabashedly trying to confuse, mess with, and wrong-foot the player. Demons Souls is hard, but it never had this sense of a developer gleefully seeking to misdirect like a sadistic stage magician. Looks like Flux shares that enthusiasm.[[/quoteblock]]
I agree.
Also, from Destructoid: [[quoteblock]]In FLUX, you get all seven levels of existence modes [[hottip:present: in Bit.Trip FATE (including Nether, Hyper, Mega, Super, Ultra, Extra and Giga)]] plus an all new mode: "Meta." Each mode has a totally unique background graphic to coincide with it, as well as mode-specific alterations to the game's score and sound effects. ...All the modes are cool in their own way, but it's in Meta mode where the guys at Gaijin packed the most complex visual metaphors. Not coincidentally, it's also the mode that's hardest to get to. ...Even Alex Neuse, the man who designed Bit.Trip FLUX's levels, could only stay in Meta for a few seconds before losing his mojo. That's what I meant before about seeing God fail at praying. [[/quoteblock]]
I replayed the first level and spent a fair bit of time in ultra (and I think Extra, but by the time i was there I was concentrating so much on the beats I couldn't see what mode I was in)
Od posted a link to something in the spoiler thread that confirms there is something that needs to be triggered, sooooooo......
Then again, most won't even realize what happens when they do hit that trigger. The trigger just shows the games ending, if a person never sees it, then they'll be waiting for a while.
I wasn't really impressed with the bosses in this game.
i honestly have to agree. they were much, much easier than the ones in Beat, and i suck at Pong and Breakout so hard it's not even funny, so i was pretty much howling at the screen in frustration during the final boss. at least i got past it, but still... i get that they were trying to make it something playable in one sitting, but at least the second boss was something completely fresh, y'know? :/
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3
[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
Initially i was very disapointed with FLUX, I beat it rather quickly on my first sitting. After a couple of days though it comes out on top. Current trip favourites: FLUX, CORE, RUNNER, BEAT, VOID and FATE.
