ok so i went ahead and bought it because i needed a break from SMT:DS and because it was a long morning at work. ugh. i needed something to cheer me up, lol, and man, Core delivered.

there were more than a few 'duh' moments in level 1, like the green bits you're supposed to hit going left-right (and not up-down as you may be oh-so-tempted to do, if you're me D: ), but it only took maybe 5 tries for me to get through it. the big trick is avoiding that damn challenge bit that turns your directions... i know, i know, all i have to do is watch which way it turned and turn my wiimote accordingly, but i gladly sacrifice the one bit to go the easy route, lol. it does feel harder, because you're not watching for bits to hit just one area, you're watching four now and you have to be careful of button presses at the wrong time/wrong area... but it seems (so far) to be balanced out by an easy boss. I was greatly surprised at how easy the boss for level 1 was, at least, compared to the bosses in Beat.

... and now that i've said this, level 2's boss is probably gonna knock me for a loop, lol. but i won't find out until later; i need some sleep at the moment.

osb1842, if you're still hanging around this thread, why don't you guys take a cue from the people who did Icarian and release a soundtrack of sorts with the next Bit.Trip release (or, even better, do it now... like, right now)? please? :3

Oh my I need a point card. Or il just use master card and get it.
Loved the first one, still didn't beat third level though!
I just finished second one and jesus took me so bloody long. Love it though.

Keep delivering these great games, and I'm looking forward to the "platforming" game one of you hinted about in interview. If you are making that type, or just an idea. (please make it )
Don't know how that will work, but it probably will.

Yep, we're well aware of the demand for the soundtrack. Can't reveal any specifics yet, but we are definitely working on it!

As far as localization, it's pretty much handled just like BEAT, with one cool little exception, which I'll leave as a surprise.

What? You tease! Does this mean I should definitely get the Japanese version (I also have a PAL UK Wii)?

Impressions :

First of all - the style/atmosphere of these Bit Trip games is top notch. Really in a class by their self.Great modern-retro vibe, this game nails that idea.

2nd - I appreciate the interface improvements - the phase progress bar is right in your face, so you know where you are at. The board level as well - nice work, there is no time to look around afterall.

3rd - I have to say I like the Bit Trip play mechanic better so far, but this game does grow on you. I am glad they are different, and am interested on where the series will go next. But it is an adjustment, and I think people will need some time to get used to this. I think other commments here reflect that. If you are in the zone, you do all right, if you get flustered it is very tough to get back on track, especially tracking dots on the outside corners of the screen. But it is challenging, and that is great. Also the bomb meter was a nice concession.

Last comment - I hate rhythm games, and I hear these described that way, but I think they are more about reactiion and pattern memorization, and I like that. Maybe I am just a moron.

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

Damn, the Exploration boss is too hard, you can only let a few bits through before you lose The stage itself isn't too bad though, I had a much tougher time getting through the second stage in Beat.

Just got to the boss of level 2 yesterday...though I didn't beat him.

Regarding his design, you guys are so clever it hurts. Seriously. I can't wait to see the boss of level 3. (Come to think of it, I still haven't seen the boss of level 3 of Beat!)

I just got this. This is rough on my thumb (directional pad). Sometimes when I'm meaning to go one direction it seems I might somehow be going another. Anyone had that problem?

I didn't really like Bit.Trip Beat enough to justify this purchase. Maybe if I had a bunch of extra cash lying around.

I hope this doesn't sound like I'm asking you a stupid question, but you're not hitting a powerup before you have trouble with the D-pad directions, are you? There are a few white pixels that, when you hit them, rotate your core, meaning you should rotate the wiimote to match the new orientation.

If that's not what's happening, then I don't know. That's strange; I haven't had any issues that I can't chalk up to personal clumsiness.

Also, yes, I've learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.
