I used to get demos myself but now all I do is just download the full version of games that have great ratings. But do any of you get demos to see how the game is and how it feels during game play?
Lately I downloaded the 3D Pixel Racing demo and then ended up purchasing it. I've been trying out the demos for a little while now, when they're available that is. Sometimes reviews can be misleading, because the person/persons who have written the review may have a bias opinion. Just because a title receives a high score doesn't necessarily mean you will enjoy it, especially if it isn't considered a genre you usually enjoy.
I haven't really dug into WiiWare's catalog yet, but I do download the demos that come up; they're the best indicators on whether or not a game is for you imo. It's one thing to hear and read about a title; it's a completely different thing to actually play it.
I download every demo except for the games that I downloaded the full versions of (of which there aren't a whole lot), and I dump them on the SD card in my Wii. Even if I have no interest in a particular game, I still leave its demo on there, and I arrange them all in order from most to least interesting. That way, if I ever have the free time and spare cash to try out a new game, I can go into my SD card, check out the list, and say "oh yeah, that game seemed pretty awesome". After downloading a few games that got great reviews and finding out they weren't really for me, I kinda don't want to try downloading anything else now unless I've played a demo.
