Topic: Anyone picking up MDK2 Monday?

I could get it for a little bit cheaper on Steam, but by getting it on WiiWare I am encouraging the developers to release more things on WiiWare. Plus, they worked hard to get the game at 40MB without losing the core gameplay. I don't mind shelling out 1000 Wii Points to show my appreciation. They didn't have to bring this to WiiWare after all.

I can relate with your budgetary dilemma but having played the WiiWare version it is just SO MUCH FUN having pointer controls for this game that I could never go back to playing it on another setup, even Keyboard/Mouse.

On an unrelated note, who else on this forum thinks each of the three characters is cool enough to deserve their own spinoff?
(tho a sequel to MDK2 with the same formula would be ok too, I guess... )

BTW if you look at the menu when it just starts there is an additional red circle that you can't select afterwards... unlockable bonus maybe?

Now there's absolutely no way i will ever purchase a game with such a game breaking bug!

Judging by LTD's wink smiley, I think he was joking. I can't wait to actually start level 4 tonight! School, school, school...

I just found another bug guys. I'm on the boss of stage 3 with Doc and after beating it the game keeps getting stuck.
The boss's life bar is completely gone yet nothing happens. A cutscene should start but it doesn't. The music is still playing and I can see the boss up above but it's stuck in place and the stage won't end. The game is just too messed up and full of glitches. Now I can't even continue my game.
I knew there was a reason I stopped buying Wiiware games.

Yeah I've tried re loading the save file several times and it just keeps getting stuck on that boss fight.
I was just starting to like the game too. Even if they fixed my save I bet it would screw up again.
I'll let them know about it but I'll be surprised if they bother patching it.

Yeah sure If you want to do that. I was playing on the normal difficulty. It was going pretty well until my game save somehow messed up. I could just start my game over and see if the glitch happens again. I'm not crazy about the idea of starting over though. At least I was only on the third stage. It seems like an okay game but it sucks that this happened to me.

I decided that I will just use my money to buy FAST on Wiiware soon, and that I'll get MDK2 on PC once it goes on sale on either Steam or GOG.com.

strange.. I've never encountered any of the bugs that seem to plague other members of this forum... guess I'm just lucky
On a related note, I emailed Interplay to thank them for bringing over this game, and also asked for the original MDK to be brought over as well. Going by their reply they were genuinely happy with the positive feedback... I guess they don't receive it often enough
Here's hoping it does some good as I am really looking forward to having more games like this, on WiiWare or anywhere else. Gaming has gotten way too serious in the past ten years.

Thanks for the help! I'll try this out later today and see if it works. Maybe It glitched out on me because I saved my game during the boss fight or something. I wish I knew what caused it so I could avoid the problem next time. Seems I'm the only one this has happened to. Guess I wasn't holding my mouth right.
I'll get back to you once I've tried that save file of yours out.

I just tried downloading your save file and something's wrong with the link you provided.
When I click on the download link it keeps saying the page could not be found.

Thanks for helping me out. The file you gave me actually worked and I can start on stage 4!
Just for the heck of it I also started a new game and got back to where the glitch happened. Just to see if it happens again.
Surprisingly the test worked. No glitch this time. I also didn't save in the boss room like last time. Not sure If that's what caused the glitch or not. Anyway thanks again.

Just a warning to anyone playing. Don't save in the boss rooms. That might be what screws it up.

Yeah hopefully nothing else goes wrong. Well back to my game.

I remember when I played level 3 the boss was kinda 'stuck' in midair for a short while. I'm not sure if it was a bug or not because the moment I spotted him and hit him with some toast the level ended normally.
I barely thought anything of it at the time but was reminded of the issue because of Link79's posts. Whatever it was, it barely bothered me for more than a minute so perhaps it wasn't the same bug.

No confusion here. I was just trying to make a joke on people who totally overreact on minor stuff in all of these internet forums.
I'm really considering getting the game once it is released in Europe and once i've got the time to play it.

I never thought about trying to shoot toast at the boss. It probably still wouldn't have worked though. When the glitch happened I couldn't select any items. The frame that goes over the items you select wouldn't move either. The boss was just floating and the stage wouldn't end.

Randomly had the urge just now to play this game again (never beat it). This weekend for sure or even this week if time allows.
