Topic: Anyone picking up MDK2 Monday?

Wow! thank you both of you for your responses! I mean it, really wasn't expecting them so quickly (and so in-depth)!

Good to know there are still a few good games coming to WiiWare these days, not to mention the recent and upcoming quality VC releases. Between this, Shinen's FAST, Motoheroz and VC games like Chrono-Trigger/FF3/Mega Man X I think I'll be buying a 5000 points card for the first time ever! Sweet

I didn't think you had to play through an entire game before reviewing it. I've seen a few reviews of disc based games a week before they were even on store shelves. Big popular ones Like Mario Galaxy.

...That's because those games weren't downloads and the reviewer wasn't provided with a copy beforehand.

If it is, this game, Ratchet and Clank, and Alice are the only ones I can think of that would be in it. XD

This is most definitely my kind of game. At first I thought it was ridiculously frustrating but then I realized in the WiiWare version you can save anywhere. Smart move, Interplay. Also, having three different characters gives the game great pacing and variety.

The story is fun and nonsensical and the atmosphere is good, but most importantly, you feel awesome and like a superhero while playing it. This game accomplishes effortlessly what many games before and after it never grasped.

...Then again, maybe it's too early to say all of this because I'm only on 2-1.

I don't like cheating or looking up how to do things, but I had to look at a youtube video for a couple of seconds to give myself an idea of what I was supposed to do at the start of the level 4 boss fight (the second form). It was pretty obscure what you had to do before you could start damaging him.

This game must be massive in length. I'm pretty sure no Wiiware review ever took this long to get posted.

It's hard to take that Gamepro review seriously when he says that pointer controls don't work in most Wii shooters. Even though the review is favorable, if you're on the fence and waiting for reviews, you should wait for reviews from other sources (like NL) which aren't filled with idiotic comments like that.

I don't understand the Doctor's first level (3-1). How do you get past that venus fly-trap thing?
EDIT: Oh wait it has something to do with the lavatory, eh? I was trying to avoid that place.

Does anyone else get motion sickness playing this game? The camera jerking around so much is giving me a headache.
I can't play more than 15 minutes without feeling sick.
Think it might help if I adjust the sensitivity in the options section?

That usually never happens to me. The camera just seems to be all over the place. I haven't been getting enough sleep lately so that might be part of the problem.

That fish part was ridiculous. Near-impossible if you don't know what to do. Overall I'm not enjoying Doc Hawk nearly as much as the other two characters. Anyway, I'm calling it a day.

this game rocks. but doc kinda sucks. max and kurt's stages are tons of fun but doc's really aren't. they have more dialogue though. i'm on doc's 3rd bomb now

So I just finished the first level of MDK2 on WiiWare and I must say this is phenomenal !!

Not only is the amount of content mind-boggling, but it plays like it was meant for Wii all along! I know some people didn't like the Z/B button thing but it only took me a minute to get used to it. The game is just oozing with personality and is just down right fun! Gives me a kind of Nintendo vibe even I just love the way it feels to play as Kurt and zooming in and out on enemies just "clicks" in a wonderful, mechanical sort of way.

Why the hell aren't there more games like this on Wii !? Now I'm wishing they gave us a port of other great games from that era, like Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Armed & Dangerous and Stranger's Wrath... you know, back when shooters were allowed to be fun and not take themselves so seriously! I miss those days...
