I can't decide between steam world dig and master reboot, which do you guys recommend?

I'm thinking of getting Squids Odyssey for the Wii U since I'll get DDP points, and I only need 18 more points for another $5.

@SKTTR have you played TNT Racers? It's ALWAYS on sale in our region and it's tempting because it looks fun. I remember you raving about it but I'm not sure. Thinking about getting that game + Master Reboot this week.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

TNT Racers is kinda underrated, you get a perfectly playable fun racer with lots of content, modes, and all the DLC from other versions included. It is different enough from other good Wii U racing games like Mario Kart 8, Sonic All-Stars Racing, F1 Race Stars and Most Wanted U and for the low price certainly worth a try. There are 60 single player challenges, lots of cars and tracks to unlock, and tons of fun to be had in multiplayer.
Off TV Play (TV mirrored) included.

Mere words could not describe how much I was looking forward to Stealth Inc. 2. This coming from a guy who didn't play the original. The puzzle platforming and the use of Wii U's unique features were very exciting. Based on what I've played so far it's not disappointing. The dry humor, the tight controls, use of Miiverse, Level Editor, everything is just awesome!

Honestly I never thought I'd see a game with such a time investment for Wii U features throughout it's entire lifespan. This makes use of everything that makes the Wii U standout. The game itself ain't bad either.

I like Pixel Studio as well. Be warned though, it functions very similar to many apps you find for free online. Heck you get a similar feature set in designing Animal Crossing clothes. If you like sharing your art to Miiverse like me though, it only sets you back $4. If I were them I would've made it half that, but plenty people seem to be downloading it based solely on Miiverse posts so I guess it's still a great value.

If you are at all pondering getting Master Reboot over Steamworld Dig, then the terroists have won. Joking aside, if you don't already own Steamworld Dig on 3DS, definitely get it on Wii U. It's right up there with the best Wii U has to offer. If you already own it on 3DS, then Master Reboot isn't too bad of a game. It has a few interesting puzzles and jump scares but it is VERY obscure. Only a very specific kind of player, mostly those who can accept weird, WTF level gaming need apply.

Updating my Wii U eShop recommendations:

2013

9.3/10 Toki Tori 2+
9.1/10 The Cave
9.0/10 Little Inferno
8.9/10 Knytt Underground
8.8/10 EDGE
8.7/10 Toki Tori
8.6/10 NES REMIX
8.4/10 TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition

2014

9.3/10 Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition
9.1/10 Stick It to The Man!
9.0/10 Squids Odyssey
8.9/10 Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails
8.8/10 UnEpic
8.7/10 Lone Survivor - The Director's Cut
8.7/10 Master Reboot
8.6/10 SteamWorld Dig ~A Fistful of Dirt~
8.6/10 Teslagrad
8.5/10 Art of Balance
8.5/10 Pullblox World
8.4/10 Armillo
8.4/10 NES REMIX 2

Q: Wait where's Child of Light, Trine 2 - Director's Cut, Zen Pinball 2, Nano Assault Neo, Duck Tales Remastered and the other top games?
A: They are not my top games. I scored them lower than 8.4/10 or haven't played them enough so they're not appearing on this list.

Q: What Wii U eShop games are you looking forward to?
A: Many. The rest of the stuff Curve puts out: The Swapper and Thomas Was Alone. Also, dark adventures. Games like Oddworld are always on my list. I will try to get some time with Tengami and A World of Keflings too. Big fan of Two Tribes and Nifflas outings as well, so I'll pick up RIVE and Affordable Space Adventures probably day one. Citizens of Earth is something I wanna pick up to surprise me. I don't really know what to expect, but it seems fun. And last but not least I'm waiting for The Fall, Ittle Dew, 1001 Spikes, and Shovel Knight to finally hit Europe. I probably forgot some. There's just too many. I hope all of those games break the 8.4/10 barrier, but we'll see.

Q: Why having an 8.4/10 barrier at all?
A: When giving a game a personal but fair score you kinda need to set apart the truly noteworthy games from the ones that are just pretty good, and it happened to be this number.

I just went through my eShop Wii U wishlist and if Igot everything on there currently aavailable it would cost me $200 (and that only has 2 retail games both priced at $30 on it) I feel I should totally do that before the end of the year, for the DDP lol

Is Vegas Stakes worth it? I saw the review gave it a 6.

Vegas Stakes is different from other casino games in that you play some sort of adventure (with a story and different "quests") between the gambling. There's even an ending if you reach 1 mil. Back on the SNES it was one of the high quality niche classics. I believe Satoru Iwata was the producer.

Does the original Golden Sun have any "points of no return" when collecting Djinn or otherwise? I've been thinking of getting it but that was one thing that bugged me about Dark Dawn.

edit: Even if it does I'll probably still get it eventually, just want to know beforehand.

IIRC, you can save after beating the game but can't go back to anywhere once you do? It's weird, I wanna say you literally can't play that file without going New Game Plus or some other nonsense, but I'm not certain.

Otherwise, you can literally go back to anywhere in the game (or at least anywhere with djinn) at any time AFAIK.

Stealth Inc. vs the swapper? Which do you recommend? Which is easier or are they both hard?

I have played Stealth Inc. 2 to the end, but I haven't yet finished The Swapper to the end, so I can't compare them fairly at the moment. The Swapper seems to be based mainly around the teleporting mechanics, while Stealth Inc. 2 has 6 different mechanics. The Swapper has a more photographic style visually, while Stealth Inc. 2 is more cartoon-like. The Swapper seems to be a much shorter game (5 hours, according to howlongtobeat.com) than Stealth Inc. 2 (absolutely more than 10 hours, lots more to complete everything). For me personally, Stealth Inc. 2 peaks difficulty-wise somewhere around world 4, after that it doesn't get any more difficult.

thanks! I'll probably end up with both but wanted to see somebody's thoughts on it first.

Stealth Inc. 2 - More content and overall gameplay variety. Worth it for level editor/sharing, online leaderboards, 2p co-op.
The Swapper - Better graphics, presentation, atmosphere. Worth it for the deep dark story about identity/conciousness and the ending.

I think Stealth Inc. 2 is easier to beat, but harder to complete 100%. Stealth Inc. 2 is about classic reaction and controller skills. Very balanced difficulty in a normal playthrough, but a real challenge to find all clones and get all s-ranks.
The Swapper is easy to beat if you know the solutions (especially to a few very hard puzzle rooms later in the game). If you don't find a solution it can block you from beating the game until you find one.

I recommend both, but if you can get only one right now... ultimately depends on taste and mood... Stealth Inc 2 is the better long term value imo.

There are two series that have been heavily featured on Nintendo Consoles in the past, and both have lots of VC releases, that I am interested in checking out. But I can only check out 1 of them. So let me hear it people, Castlevania vs Mega Man!

I prefer Mega Man and would recommend starting with Mega Man 2.
