For how long I can keep my money on eShop balance? I am not that rich so I plan to buy those 15-25 cards to collect money for next game. Can I keep my balance for e.g. 2-3 months before spending?

Yes. The funds never expire.

Unless Nintendo completely shuts down the WiiU eShop, which will probably be a few years after the next Nintendo console launches. I think that will take 8 years.

Well, ya. If they unify the accounts on 3DS and Wii U, THEN they wouldn't expire.
So ya, you have at least 8 years to spend your money @sinanziric

I kind of wonder what will happen as systems fade out eventually though. I used up all my Wii points, but I still have 1600 DSi points kicking around, and if I never spend them I wonder what happens to those points or if Nintendo is legally obligated to maintain them like with how gift cards aren't allowed to expire ever.
