When digital download becomes the main way people purchase games. Right now people barely purchase retail games on the eShop so their isn't as big of a benefit to changing eShop prices as much as retail.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.

Well thats a bit of a conundrum as part of the reason people dont purchase digital is due to the high prices, thus the only time its beneficial is fresh release.

(AC3 had 30% discount and the price was officially drop $39.99 from the original $59.99). Older game such as AC3 will probably have further price drop once the new AC are release on the system.
There often some wicked deals like Super Metroid or F-zero which I picked up for only 30 cent...
You can't really compare eshop price to retail, some retailer will have clearance and sales just to get rid of inventory.

20% of some games' sales were on the eShop. I don't consider that "barely"
Perhaps its because i am used to Steam but i do kinda expect the same sales and deals.
Except Steam has a lot of competition on PC gaming, which leads to those sales and deals. Nintendo, however, does not. Companies just don't hand you deals and sales out of simple generosity folks

In Norway they are cheaper or same as retail price, I am taking RE : Revelations as an example which is 399 NOK (about £39.9) on eshop and 599 NOK on retail!
I know you may not understand NOK but I hope you understand that it is cheaper on eshop

First off, I'm pretty sure the AC3 price already got cut by $20, and is now $40. And by "I can buy AC3 for $20", you must mean other console versions or must be real lucky guy. I cannot find a retail Wii U AC3 for under $40.

I usually get my games on Amazon exactly the day they launch, and even before launch date with overnight shipping. Were you saying Amazon isn't suited for day one?
Amazon =/= all retailers. Nintendo is not competing directly with Amazon anyway, so there's no need to lower the prices on the eShop.
It's not just Amazon. I bought AC3 for $20 at Best Buy, and Gamestop had it for the same price that week. No such sale occurred on the eshop. Tekken is also $20 at Best Buy, Gamestop, and Amazon, but $55 on the eshop.
