Remember Rex Rocket? That awesome retro-styled metroidvania that was supposed to come for Wii U? Well, where did it go? The PC release was very much under the radar, and I see no media coverage about it any more. The official site has pretty much been abandoned, with no signs of that the game has actually been released. The demo was also pulled off the site, for some reason, and I had to get it elsewhere (it won't run on my Win8 pc anyway). So did anyone hear anything?
I really wanted to get this game on Wii U... The game looks like it could be the new Cave Story.

Rex Rocket’s Wii U version has been put on hold, developer Castle Pixel confirmed to Nintendo Everything. The studio’s Miguel Vidaure told us that a release on the eShop is “still a possibility”, though it’s “on the back burner due to the time it would take to develop.”
